Perfect in every way!

5 of 5
We arrived late on a Friday night after 12 hours of traveling from the East Coast. Upon unlocking the door, we were taken in by the tranquil, calm surroundings, the bowl of fresh fruit, the bottle of wine, fresh coffee, the soft, sumptuous towels and down comforters. The place was spotless, well cared for and full of amenities. Everything was perfect for a week of exploring, cooking and relaxing with family. Janet has decorated the houseboat in the soft blues of a beach home without the cliche. The kitchen is a chef's dream! I made dinner for 8 without a hitch; all of the cookware, utensils, even olive oil, were available. There were plenty of dishes, glassware and even cocktail napkins.(I would suggest adding another setting of silverware for four more as we used all of the dinner and salad forks to meet our needs for the eight of us.) It's the other little touches that really made this place special. The binoculars, bird books and guides, magazines about San Francisco and Sausalito, the binder full of info on the area with extra maps and brochures! Other special touches included tissues in every room, scented soaps and lotions at the kitchen sink and in the bathrooms, and soft, cozy throws to curl up in at the end of the day while you watched the tide return and the sun set. I cannot say enough about the special level of hospitality that Janet provides in this floating home. Lastly, the location. Is perfect for whatever you wish to do in the area. You have easy access to SF, the Marin Headlands, Napa and Sonoma Valleys, and San Rafael. We did not lack for activity and sightseeing opportunities. As for local restaurants, we ate at Fred's for breakfast twice and loved the Millionaire's Bacon plus hash browned potatoes. Dinner included Fish, a sustainable seafood market and restaurant that had excellent quality, plus happy hour at Saylor's Restaurant. Saylor's had great $5 plates and delicious margaritas!

Elegant houseboat in a convenient spot!

My 2 kids (ages 9 and 10) and I LOVED our stay in this elegant floating home. Warwick has terrific taste and the house could not have been more comfortable. The kids relished the adventure of climbing down a ship's ladder to their cozy suite (complete with xbox!) as much as I appreciated my top floor master suite. Warwick was flexible with last minute date adjustments and a thoughtful host - the fresh flowers on arrival were lovely!

Wonderful accomodations!

5 of 5
As soon as we arrived at the marina we were greeted by the property manager who lives aboard the boat in the next slip. He showed us around the sailboat and the marina. Everything aboard was perfect and there was enough room for myself and my three daughters. My 17 and 15 year old girls took the forward berth and my 13 year old and I took the berths in the bow. When we did not eat at any of the many restaurants nearby we used the gas grill under the tiki hut. The showers at the marina were always available when we needed them, and another great bonus is the ice machine near the men's restroom! After getting settled in on Monday we made the short drive to Islamorada to feed the tarpon at Robbie's marina. We snorkeled Alligator Reef lighthouse, went to Sombrero Beach and also spent a day at Bahia Honda State park where we enjoyed kayaking and one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen. The snorkeling from shore was also pretty decent, I saw a stingray, crabs, and numerous small fish. Harry Harris park also has a nice beach and also you can swim and snorkel from shore there too. Be sure to check out Library Beach where the locals hang out behind the library, and you will want to spend some time at Anne's Beach. On Wed. after spending all day at Bahia Honda we drove to Key West and did the sunset cruise on the Fury catamaran. Live music, good food' and margaritas were abundant, so I'm glad that my 17 year old has her drivers licence. 4 days in the Keys is not enough time so we're saving up our allowances to come back next spring break. We decided to do this trip at the last minute and of all the inquiries I made the owners of the Northern Cross were the quickest to reply. They stayed in touch with me before, during, and after our stay. Great service, great sailboat, great marina, and great location made for a super great vacation. If you like a peaceful and quiet place to relax after racing around all over the Keys having fun then you need to live on board this 42' sailboat!
