We greatly enjoyed our 7-day stay at this Magnolia house. It was a perfect fit for our family of eight, which included a 6-yr old child. There was ample space to gather as a family and private spaces for each one to recharge for all the activities available in the area. We only cooked breakfast and brunch and the kitchen was fine for that. Discovery Park up the street was a real find. Restaurants in Ballard were plentiful, but we did not like that so many did not welcome children. For several of us, the dinner at The Walrus and the Carpenter was the highlight meal of the week. Opens at 4 and does not take reservations so you better be there in line early. For others, the relatively inexpensive lunch at Salumi in the Pioneer Square area was tops. The house was close to many of the activities on our ‘to-do’ list and traffic, which we heard was awful, was manageable. A day trip to Friday Harbor with a whale watching trip and sunset kayaking was a favorite activity. Although the logistics of moving eight people from the east coast to Seattle were not simple, the time spent together at this house was worth it.
