Quiet flat in a safe neighborhood

5 of 5
Fitzrovia Studio really is quiet even with all the windows open! We journeyed from Heathrow Airport to Goodge Street Station on the London Underground. We changed trains once at Leicester Square. If you can handle carrying your luggage up and down the stairs at that tube station, then you will have no problems carrying your luggage to this upstairs flat. It's a clean studio apartment with a comfortable bed, WIFI and a washer dryer. The kitchen is complete although we missed a microwave and cooked on the stove. There are several good grocery stores nearby. The neighborhood was pleasantly the biggest surprise. The first night we walked down the street to an excellent Indian restaurant called Sagar, and the area was filled with young business men and women. We felt very safe. University College London and the British Museum is a short walk from the flat. Look up and find the British Telecom tower if you get lost without GPS. As international guests, we felt welcome into Atma's home and appreciate his thoughtfulness. Euston Station is a couple stops north on the same line as Goodge Street, which is convenient for travel by train to destinations outside London like Bletchley Park.

This property was in an ideal location for us.

4 of 5
Even though it is a basement suite, the floors were warm and there was absolutely no smell of damp or mustiness. The amenities were top notch: good shower, excellent bed, clean and well cared for. Our only suggestion would to make it more homey with a coat rack by the door, a full length mirror and more cozy seating in the hallway/kitchen. We really enjoyed the Leinster Arms and the proximity to Kensington Park and the tube stations.

A Terrific Location - Short Stroll To Oxford, Transpotation (to everywhere) In The Heart Of Soho!

4 of 5
My wife and I spent the month of September in this marvelous little flat, so conveniently located in Soho, that we used as our "home base" from which to explore London on this return visit to the city. The booking process with Charlene & James was very easy, questions were answered quickly and the owners had a representative meet us on arrival, providing 2 sets of keys, and took the time to explain the operation of items, including the washer/dryer, rubbish disposal, elevator, etc. The flat was neat & tidy, offering such items as laundry & dish washing & liquid hand soaps, toilet paper, dishes for two plus everything needed to prepare meals including pots, pans, spatulas, food storage containers, kettle, toaster (and the all important corkscrew & wine glasses!), a space-efficient kitchen with good-sized fridge, 4 burner gas cook top and oven, combination washer/dryer, collapsible clothes rack (for drying clothes while we were out exploring the sights), free wifi, television with large number of channels, loads of towels and bed linens, a book shelf loaded with up-to-date London guides (we had brought some of our own as well, but we purchased another local map on arrival for GBP 3.50 as we had worn our old one when we visited in 2012!) - basically everything we needed for a carefree vacation. The best part of this 5th floor flat though was the location, being so very central to buses, tube stations, grocery shops, retail shopping, restaurants, theatres, pubs (lots & lots of pubs) and more. Located on Charing Cross Rd, this flat is just a short stroll to Oxford Street, the British Museum, Trafalgar Square with the National Gallery and Portrait Gallery, Covent Garden, Neal's Yard, Little Venice, etc., etc. and as we "returned home" to the flat each afternoon/evening, we appreciated more and more the superior location of this vacation rental! The included telephone in the flat was really appreciated by us (WE NEVER BRING OUR CELL PHONE WHEN WE HOLIDAY) and 'allowed us to book theatre tickets, restaurant reservations as well as make FREE CALLS TO FAMILY BACK HOME IN CANADA. We estimated the living area of the flat to be about 350 square feet in size and with the hanging closet, shelving, bedside dresser, entrance foyer, etc., it provided us very comfortable accommodations for our stay (plus the open floor plan, 3 big windows and over-height ceilings provided a bright/airy interior environment) You can't go wrong with this London vacation rental!!!
