I really needed time to myself to wind down and relax. Having been to Dalavich a number of times in the past I knew the area would give me that isolation. But in previous visits, when the Forestry Commission owned the site, the cabins were, to say the least "rustic" but I was used to that. But what a gem The Bubble turned out to be! It had been modernised to a good standard and with many quirky aspects that made it interesting as well as comfortable. Nicky, the owner, proved to be really helpful. I've hired cottages many times over the past 40-odd years and have never come across an owner so understanding and adaptable, he made the visit extra special.
I'd planned for bad weather and got it in Spades, I had rain, sleet, snow, a thunderstorm, thundersnow and freezing nights (and some days). But with the background heating in the cabin, together with a paraffin stove I was always warm and comfortable. The roaring log fire every night was a good end to the day with a good book and a tipple or two.
The view over Loch Awe from the lounge and the deck was to die for for a city dweller.
I have no hesitation in recommending The Bubble to others, I know I'll be back.
