Lovely apartment with perfect location

4 of 5
My husband and I spent 5 days in London and stayed at this quaint apt. in Nottinghill. Mainly, I can list only pros about the place, but for the sake of completeness, I'll include the cons knowing that every place we stay will have some. First, the owner is great to work with and responds very quickly to email requests. The apt. is well represented by the pictures. Location is PERFECT!! It's a hike up the narrow staircase so consider the weight of your luggage. But it's only one floor up. Secure building, safe neighborhood. Restaurants all around for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Really good food too. We ate at kitchen and pantry down the street a few times and it was consistently a good breakfast/lunch place. There are many lunch/dinner places and italian predominates (that was just fine with me). The apt. is small but adequate for 2 adults. You can pull out the couch but I think it would work for kids best. Value for London is fine. Dishwasher works well. There is a bathtub with shower overhead, good water pressure, hot water always avail. No cold blasts! Small refridge works fine. No freezer. There is a coffee maker, toastser, tea pot, utensils. We did not cook while we were here, but it looks like small meals could be done. Sheets/towels clean and decent quality. They provide dishwasher & laundry soap. There is a small grocery store right near Ladbroke Grove tube station. You can pick up basic things there. Like toilet paper. I'm coming from America and so that's my reference point. Here are the cons: No microwave which is so convenient. Washing/dryer clothes machine is super small, only put in 1-2 days worth of laundry. Wash cycle is 120min (no kidding) long, drying cycle same. Plan laundry strategy as it takes so long for so few clothes. Need more washclothes but that's just my thing. Otherwise towels ok. No toilet paper when we arrived (yikes). These are all small details. My biggest gripe was the internet. I suspect that for VRBO users, the internet is a way of life. Here, there are a few networks to get on, but they will drop you every 5 minutes at the very longest. Sometimes you can get back on, sometimes you have to wait. Often, you have to wait. I would suggest that this be remedied and then I would have been very happy. Phone signal is fine. So overall, a great place to stay. London is very expensive to stay in a hotel and this is a great compromise. Love living right in a real neighborhood! Thumbs up on this rental.

Wonderful Stay for a Family of Four

5 of 5
My family stayed in the flat from Monday, August 4, 2014 through Wednesday, August 6. We had a wonderful visit and the flat was such a welcome respite after a long day of sightseeing. The flat is truly like walking into your own house as every single thing you could possibly want is there. It is SUPER CLEAN, very fresh/new, comfortable bed, secure and such thoughtful amenities like coffee, tea, soap, shampoo/conditioner, full computer (great for planning the next day's activities and looking at maps) and more. Having the washing machine was wonderful and there is a sizable drying rack, also. I will admit I had a couple of reservations re: the nearby train tracks and a fear of sleeping w/ the windows open, but I wasn't awoken a single time...slept like a baby! My 11-year old twins slept easily on the pull-out. The walk to the tube stop took approximately 5 minutes and at the end of a long day it felt a little tiring, but I'm also used to American suburbia where we drive everywhere! Given how far we walked elsewhere in London in search of a tube stop, it was no big deal. If we're fortunate enough to visit London again in the near future, I would certainly request to rent this flat again. Jhonathan was so very nice and accommodating and he was more than willing to help me w/ anything we needed.
