Wonderful Villa!

5 of 5
This villa was absolutely lovely. The views are breathtaking, the location is fabulous (5 minutes drive from the supermarket and Grace Bay beaches), the villa is well appointed with everything a family could need - beach towels, too. The bedrooms are air conditioned for comfortable sleeping. Someone mentioned something about dogs barking - yes, the neighbours have dogs, but almost every resident on the island does! The dogs bark as any would in every neighbourhood across the world. They certainly did not affect our sleep, we slept like babies in this incredible villa. BE AWARE - the night-time star gazing is truly unbelievable!!! Enjoy your time there, just wish we didn't have to leave!

Wonderful time-3 generations

5 of 5
We loved our visit to Turks & Caicos. The home was comfy, well-maintained and clean. We really enjoyed taking the kayaks out on the sound to visit the iguana island--we saw at least 15 wild iguanas. We cooked most of the time and the kitchen had everything you could possibly need! It was difficult for my 72 -year -old mother to climb the steps up to the house because they are natural stone and no railing to get you up those last few steps, but once inside she had no need to leave the main level. Tips-go to chinsons to eat-- amazing food. Shop at IGA. Go on Caicos dream tours--conch tour, snorkel, "hunt conch" and they prepare it for you! Snorkel by the bight. We normally spend $200 per week for groceries in the states-we spent closer to $800 on the island, and ate out three times during our one week stay....dining out ran us around $160 with tip for 6 people each meal. I also packed a medium sized hard shelled suitcase with peanut butter, waffle mix, syrup, cereal (which was $10 per box on the island), jelly, Pringles, and other misc dry good foods-no problems with customs. The empty suitcase stored our three conch shells and starfish plus other miscellaneous souvenirs purchased.

Great Place

5 of 5
Had a terrific stay at Datai last week. Took the family (we have 2 teenage boys), and had a great stay. Jean Louis could not have been nicer and more helpful in making sure all of our needs were taken care of prior to arrival, upon arrival and during our stay. He and his caretaker Regine wanted to ensure our stay was as special as possible. The house is terrific and well laid out to make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. It is well appointed with just about everything you could need for a great beach vacation. There is a beautiful beach (Whitby Beach) just steps out the back door with great snorkelling, swimming, sea-kayaking, walking or just sitting. It is also well located in realtion to several great beaches or North and Middle Caicos. We had a terrfic time traveling to beautiful beaches at Sandy Point, 3 Mary Cays, Mudjin Harbor, and even all the way down to Cedar Point. Additionally there is a great market and liquor store a short drive from the well located house. Jean Louis and Regine were nice enough to also hook us up with great folks to get us from the airport to the ferry, a rental car, and one of the nicest and best fishing guides, our new friend Big D (Dedrick). All in all this is a terrific house with an owner and caretaker that want to ensure you have as special a vacation as possible. I highly recommend you give it a try.
