            The property was very beautiful.

I had an amazing time on my trip. The property was just as advertised, and someone met me to give me details and answer questions. My favorite part was the rooftop pool with its amazing views of the ocean. I usually had the pool to myself! It was heated so I could swim and night and the property was very well secured so I always felt safe. It was always quiet too. I traveled alone and felt safe the entire time I was there. I must say, however, that you do need to rent a car! Everything on the island is expensive...and I mean EXPENSIVE. Plan on spending almost twice as much on food as you would in the states. A bag of grapes was 10.00! Cereal is 9 for a very small box. A loaf of bread will run you about 7 dollars. They must import everything. so the prices are astronomical. Gas was about 6.50 a gallon. As I said, you need to rent a car unless you want to pay 20 US dollars per person, one way to the taxi's. But a small rental is about 65 a day with insurance. Also be aware that you will drive on the left. You can. however, find cheaper rides in the jitnies that the locals take.It is a system where regular cars drive the road and will honk. If you need a ride, just wave them down. A ride will cost 5 or 10 dollars. At Vista Azul the beach is near, but the access is is quite a ways down the road. There are private homes where the access is across the street. I tried to go that way but there was no public access. Finally, I cut through an unoccupied property, at least I hope it was!!!, to get onto the beach. I then walked a brisk 2 miles to get to a populated area with lounge chairs. It was near the hotels. The beach is AWESOME! The water felt great and was so clear. I swam, floated, chatted with some locals and had a great time. I also went scuba diving with Provo Turtle Divers which was also amazing!!!! For wonderful food, I went too Boogaloos which is where the locals live. They don't eat there as it is very expensive. I had coconut shrimp for 20.00. There were 7 shrimp on the plate with nothing else. It was the best shrimp I have ever eaten however! So, I highly recommend Turks and Caicos and Vista Azul. The owner of my condo priced it just right. It was relatively cheap compared to everything else. So if you do not like the resort environment, it is the way to go; just be prepared to spend some money on everything else!!!
