Amazing vacation very relaxing

4 of 5
Wow!" That is the first thing I said when I saw the beautiful turquoise waters of Chalk Sound on the drive down to the cottage. Then, to find out, that I could sit on my own private deck and enjoy that view for the next week left me speechless! The cottage was a perfect size for my husband and I. It was not decorated like the big resorts, but it was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed for our relaxing getaway. The beaches in Providenciales are really remarkable. I was impressed by Sapodilla Bay beach that is just a 2 minute walk from the cottage, but then we decided to take the drive up to Taylor Bay beach (a 2 minute drive away) and were absolutely blown away: a 1km long beach with beautiful white sand, shallow at least 100m from shore, coral right in the water. The most amazing part to us was that in January (a busy time for tourists), there were just 3 other people on the whole beach! The restaurants on the island are also amazing - especially Las Brisas, which is just a 5 minute walk from the cottage. It can be an expensive place if you decide to have the steak or lobster ($30-$40), but you can also get some great pasta, burgers, and chicken sandwiches for $12-15. The gas station that is just a 1 minute drive away also has a convenience store and they sell alcohol (except on Sundays). There is a big grocery store close to the airport (about 5 minutes away). All in all, I would highly recommend choosing one of these cottages if you are visiting the island. We would have had to spend 5 to 10 times as much for a unit in Grace Bay that had the kind of view that we did. The owner David and the property manager Thashena were both amazing people to deal with - thank you so much to both of them for giving us the most relaxing vacation we have had in the past 10 years!
