House exactly as advertised, clean and brand new, in a new subdivision. House is a few blocks from highway system providing convenient access to Amariillo area attractions, as well as an easy trip to Palo Duro Canyon State Park, which was the primary reason for our visit.
Karen was a delightful and responsive host, and the 2-car garage kept our rented car safe and ding-free when the hail storm swept through one night, as well as providing a shaded parking place when we returned to the house during the day for lunch or naps. The washer/dryer, the fully-equipped kitchen and the living and dining room areas were also happily utilized by us. We understand Karen has plans to add additional amenities in the future, which will only serve to sweeten the experience.
Palo Duro Canyon State park not only provides amazing scenic vistas and well maintained hiking trails, but also trail rides and the musical, historical pagent "TEXAS", all of which we availed ourselves of.
Additional area attractions we enjoyed included the Panhandle Plains Museum in the town of Canyon, the famous Cadillac Ranch, the equally famous Big Texan Steak House, the surprising RV Museum, the Botanical Gardens, and the Kwahadi Museum of the American Indian/Kwahadi Dancers, all of which we enjoyed immensely.
We visited the Route 66 Historic District, but outside of a few interesting buildings found it to be a collection of antique shops mostly only open on weekends, which didn't serve the interests of our party. If you like shopping for antiques, and you are there on a weekend, I'm sure you will find it charming.
Overall the property suited our needs and met our expectations beautifully, and we would not hesitate to stay there again, or recommend it to our friends.
