My group of girlfriends has been getting together annually since the 70's and we've stayed a lot of great places; this home is in the top two and we can't wait to go back. The house is as beautiful as it looks in the photos and everywhere you turn, there's another bedroom and bathroom.
The home was very clean, organized, and had a layout that easily allowed all 10 of us to be together, while also having smaller seating arrangements for satellite conversations.
The kitchen had plenty of cookware, dishes, wine glasses, and utensils. We made great use of the large refrigerator, two ovens (including convection) and microwave, and the six burner stove. The layout made it very easy for a lot of us to be working on meals in the kitchen at the same time.
And there's great art everywhere. I don't even know that I got to see all of it. The eating bar was a huge hit; lots of clever pieces in this home.
Additionally, the owners were extremely gracious with their time, talking to us before and during our stay to answer questions about events, activities, etc. and making sure we were having a good weekend and finding everything we needed in the house.
It was a cold, rainy, winter weekend -- and it was still so beautiful. Looking out the back wall of windows over a lazy breakfast and seeing dozens (hundreds?) of ducks swoop in over the water was incredible. I don't think it's possible to be in this house and not be relaxed; it just has that earthy and elegant feel that tells you it's time to chill and talk and toast and laugh -- one of those weekends where you never look to see what time it is. Because you do NOT care.
