We LOVE the Nut House!

5 of 5
Three families from the same cul-de-sac stayed at the nut house during our spring break get away. Six adults and three children stayed for 3 nights and had the most wonderful time! The house itself is beautifully decorated and immaculately kept. The location was perfect for our excursions (Hill Country, San Antonio, Shopping in San Marcus, Natural Bridge, etc.) and we loved the beauty and serenity that the house offered. It was wonderful to sit on the porch and watch the children play. Even when inside we never felt crowded due to the layout and space that the house has to offer. The large table was a gathering place for games at night. We had such a wonderful time that we are considering making it a yearly event. Thank you to Brian & Jo Anne for sharing your little slice of heaven with us!

Beautiful home---wonderful hospitality!

5 of 5
This home was so comfortable and had everything we needed. We stayed here with our 2 teenage children and they loved having the space upstairs. We all enjoyed the history of the home as well. Although the pictures are beautiful, they really can't do justice for the beauty of this 100+ year old home. It's a great location too---we ate in Hutto one evening, Georgetown the next, and were within 20 minutes of my mother in-laws home in Austin. You have the feeling of being in the country but we were within 10 minutes of shopping, dining, movies, etc... The owners are extremely kind and helpful too. We would definitely like to stay here again.

Relaxing family atmosphere

5 of 5
This house is billed as a very family atmosphere and lives up to it. We had two families with 6 children ranging from 3 to 9 and the kids had a blast. As in other reviews, the "backyard" kept the kids entertained with the small zip line, swing, single seat swing, croquet and wide exploring space. The kids fell in love with the pool/air hockey table. The parents were happy because the kids could safely wander around the house/yard and keep themselves entertained. Older kids would have so much fun exploring the entire property by themselves. We saw deer several times in the evening. The kitchen has a reverse osmosis water supply for clean drinking water, and a very capable gas stove. Most of the bunk beds appear to be homemade, so be aware that there are no side railings on the top. The mattresses are fairly basic. One thing to note was that there wasn't a lot of cupboad/dresser space to put your things away - so we mainly lived out of our suitcases for the week. The kitchen is open and spacious - great for multiple "chefs" working. The surrounding area is lovely - great for cyclists, the street runs straight up the hill for a beautiful evening sunset drive, and an interesting sculpture ranch to visit. We mostly went for nearby outings - LBJ park (several), perdenales falls state park - the history coupled with beautiful scenery made for a perfect spring break. As in other reviews, Tina is very friendly and helpful! My daughter has already requested to come back soon.
