Overall the nicest place we've ever stayed. Beats a Four Seasons every time. Our large, several room spread had all the amenities, including a huge kitchen - but it also had this soulful, folksy vibe. A contemporary feel offset by a piano and large wooden dining table. We could go on and on about how the place looks.
The view of the gulf from the wraparound deck was amazing. The town was small and charming. We visited a local sea turtle rescue center then ended up going to their annual fundraising ball that night. You don't plan things like that.
The owners live in the first story of the house and couldn't have been nicer. If you needed anything, they were there. If you didn't, you'd never know they were there.
So if you find yourself heading for South Padre Island, this is the place. We just got back (our first time there) and are already talking about going back this Fall.
