Wonderfully comfortable

5 of 5
Great place. The house is fabulous. The orchard and river are beautiful. The hospitality can't be beat. I would highly recommend staying here if you're planning a trip to Georgetown.

A home away from home!

5 of 5
We had a wonderful time at this home. The six of us plus our three dogs had a wonderful time. There was enough space for all of us. The decor here is of high standard. There were plentiful towels and linens available, and a fully stocked kitchen. The downstairs shower is great for rinsing off all that sand. There are two public walkways to the beaches- one almost directly across from the property, and the other a few minutes away. The beaches were uncrowded even though we were there during spring break, and there is relatively little development further down the beach, which made it very pleasant indeed. All in all it was a wonderful experience. I would recommend doing grocery shopping in Galveston as there are more choices there and it would be less expensive.

Ammenities Abound

5 of 5
Our recent stay was a wonderful escape from the cold Midwest . The furnishings were fun and comfortable. I especially enjoyed the artwork in the condo expressing the joys in life at the beach. The unit was clean and had all the necessary equipment to carry on a normal life. We enjoyed life on the balcony. Breakfast watching dolphins in the Gulf, reading in comfortable chairs while soaking up the sun and a glass of wine in the late afternoon. When often had to pry ourselves away to enjoy the rest of Galveston (lol) The ammenities that are included in the rental were so much fun! We loved working out in a clean gym every day. The staff for the hotel are amazing and friendly. A special shout out for Mary who went above and beyond her duties to help us with a problem after we left the property. The owner was the very best we have ever had. I do not know if she owns other property other than this unit, but I would rent from her any time anywhere! Her property is well maintained and super clean. The services she provided for us were extraordinary and very much appreciated. We stayed about six weeks in this unit so we had time to have a couple small issues arise (bulbs burning out & problem with a toilet- normal upkeep) She made sure these were resolved immediately and surprised us with a wifi connection shortly after we arrived. We do not know what other units are like in this building, but would rent from Linda in a heartbeat. We did not have a chance to use many of the other attractions on this property, but we think the outdoor pools & lazy river would be a great attraction to children and adults alike. The game room looks like it would be a great place to gather on a rainy day or to excape the afternoon heat. The movie theatre looked like so much fun. We enjoyed the Strand and Moody Gardens very much. Happy hours were a great way to enjoy many restaurants. Do save one night to go to The Grotto for dinner! It is fabulous!! Great food, atmosphere, and service! Also, try to make Sunday Brunch at the Hotel Galvez. We were here during the winter and had enough activity to amuse us, but I bet the Spring, Summer & Fall are amazing, with more activities than hours to have fun. One of my favorite laid-back, no cost enjoyment was to drive down the SeaWall to the other end of the island and watch the ships coming in & out of the harbour. For nights in, I suggest driving over to Island Seafood to pick up fresh shrimp and freshly caught fish.
