Loving the Cross Street House! Best vacation ever!

5 of 5
It is the prefect cute little house in a 'walking distance' neighborhood. The house is modern, super clean and has all you need during a stay in downtown Austin. 2 bedrooms with plenty of space for your luggage, open kitchen - living room, internet, new bathroom with a shower, towels provided!!! Upon arrival the fridge is filled with water, sodas, a few snacks. Even the kitchen cabinets are filled with pasta, sauce, popcorn, wine.... We really fell in love with our Cross Street house, we even got the chance to meet the owners who gave us some insider tips, where to rent bikes, which trail to use around the lake, where to find breakfast tacos around the corner. You could even enjoy breakfast in the little backyard but in July it was way too hot. Rainey Street is very close by and offers plenty of individual bars and restaurants. It is cool to explore the neighborhood by bike, we hardly needed our car. If you ever come to Austin, do not book a hotel if you love the local life and experience of a city! If you need some advice, feel free to contact us! M&M Thanks a lot Chris and Irene, we will be back!!

Beyond perfect spot for anyone visiting Austin.

The carriage house is exactly as pictured and is absolutely perfect. Located on a VERY quiet street in a quaint neighborhood, it is a perfect spot to stay in to see all sides of August. We stayed here for 4 nights and couldn't have been more pleased with our choice of lodging! The house is a 5 min walk from the best bars and restaurants in SoCo including Hotel Saint Cecilia and Hotel San Jose. In addition, the house is a short walk from the river so getting to downtown is super easy as well. I would recommend this house to anyone visiting Austin. In my opinion, this was a much more authentic Austin experience than what we would have gotten from staying at a hotel!

GREAT getaway and base for exploring Austin!

5 of 5
This was truly a wonderful gem in the West hills of Austin! We brought our 7 year old (note: it was made clear that there is only one bed and we were okay with that). We decided not to take our dog at the last minute, but he was welcome there nonetheless.Every morning we greeted the chickens - and they greeted us! Funny that they ended up being a highlight! The grounds are lovely, the ceramic artwork everywhere is amazing. We saw deer and fawns at dawn and dusk (along the drive). And still had modern and comfortable amenities. I highly recommend the fantastic lap pool too. Claudia was welcoming and helpful. On the last morning she loaded us up on veggies from the garden and freshly laid eggs for a breakfast scramble!
