Nice but...

4 of 5
I am going to give the kind of review that I would think would be helpful if you considering booking. Pros: 1. The owners are super attentive, which is great if you have questions 2. Property is very nice a. Beds are super comfortable & Rooms are big b. Has a hammock that was surprisingly wonderful c. Right on the water d. Kitchen is stocked with pretty much everything you need e. Very well kept and clean f. Loved the large stand up shower g. Fire pit in the back is fun for that outdoor feel h. Very close to the state park where we were able to fish a little I. Has washer / dryer so you don't need to pack a ton J. The 8 year old had a blast, and with no TV that's saying a lot. Cons: a. A tad bit pricey, but I understand they want a clientele that will not destroy their property b. The property is on very high pillars, so there's quite a stair climb (not ideal for older folks) c. The property is on somewhat of a hill, so walking down to the water and back up to the property is once again a bit of a task for older folks d. There was really no fishing in the river and that's what we hoped to do most of the time. e. The neighbors are closer then we would have hoped. Not that it was a big deal, because it wasn't...we just thought that we would have been more secluded Overall, we really enjoyed it. If we would have known that there would have been no fish, we would have prepared differently...maybe finding places close by to visit. The owners are really helpful and it's a place we would recommend to youngers families. We wouldn't take my father (78) there again just because of all the levels and we would probably recommend going in warmer weather. Thanks Linda & Steve! Happy Holidays, Linda

the perfect getaway

I can't imagine a cozier cabin in a more beautiful place. This trip was the getaway that made me feel like I really got-away. I would love to go back!

So Relaxing!!

5 of 5
I was looking for a quiet place out of the city for my dog and I and we found it! It had everything I was looking for: rustic, relaxing, water close by. It was so quiet I forgot there were neighbors right next door. The walk to the river was absolutely beautiful, in fact the entire area was! We spent everyday by the river and every evening on the stone patio overlooking the property. At night, you could see large dragonflies over the trees. It was absolutely the most relaxing trip I've had since living in Houston! My dog even learned how to swim! I will definitely be staying again!
