Great for family reunion

5 of 5
We spent Christmas week at Alexandra Ranch with our large family. It was perfect in every way. Beautiful pool and spa, with a lovely spacious terrace around the pool with distant views of the hill country around Comfort, TX. We loved the sunrises and sunsets, the large, comfortable living room with fireplace and giant TV, the spacious kitchen and dining room, and all the amenities such as TV, separate video room upstairs, games, books, and plenty of room for everyone to spread out and have their own privacy. Two families lived in the separate casitas, which open off the pool, and are ideal for a family of four. Two more families stayed in the main house. The master bedroom is large and elegant, with four poster bed, large TV, desk and couch. The bathroom and dressing room are spacious and well-appointed. The house reminded us of a Tuscan villa, and though everything is Texas oversized, it was comfortable and welcoming in every way....especially the bronze Wyatt Earp at the front door with a Santa hat, no less.

If you're even considering it, rent this house! The architecture, views, trail access, and wonderful outdoor areas, it's all fantastic. It's actually even more beautiful in person than it's depicted in the photos posted. And what we enjoyed the most was how uniquely designed it is. We stayed for two nights over Thanksgiving (my wife & I, our 4 kids, and Lucy allowed us to bring our dog) as a mini-vacation. The location in Austin was great, but the couple times we left to visit a park and find a meal we found ourselves rushing to get back. The house managed to be fun & entertaining for the kids (aged 4-12) while at the same time relaxing and serene for us. And while we didn't have the opportunity, it would be an outstanding house for entertaining. Lucy was a gracious host, and we couldn't have been happier with the whole experience.
