Great location and a great place to stay while in Austin.

5 of 5
My wife and I found this great little place while searching reviews on Homeaway. The owner was extremly nice and helpful about the area. The cottage was located behind the owners main house, but was plenty private. On street parking was a plus, as it seems parking is a premium almost everywhere in Austin. The place was vey cute and well apportioned. We had everything we needed and enjoyed our downtime here. It was very close to the South Congress Avenue shops and stores as well as right down the road from the downtown Austin area. The bathroom is located on the second floor loft, which is accessed by a steep stair so this wouldn't be a great place for my parents or anyone who has some difficulty climbing steep steps - but for us, this place was perfect.

Great Stay!

5 of 5
Our stay was wonderful. The neighborhood is very nice and quiet. The studio was super clean and the bed was super comfortable. The decor is amazing. We were there for ACL weekend two and the location was just perfect. It's a bit of a walk to the park, but very doable. And the owner was kind enough to offer us a ride! Overall, we had a wonderful time and would stay there again.

Idyllic!

5 of 5
We spent 4 days / 3 nights at the Casita & after just one night back home, we're already trying to figure out when we can make another trip back there! Having been to Austin many times for soccer tournaments when I was younger & of course, 6th Street when I was in college, I'd never really had the chance to be an actual "tourist" in Austin & my boyfriend had never been to Austin before our trip, so this is the perfect location, especially if you're past the days of frequenting the bars for entertainment, haha! Walking distance to plenty of restaurants, Zilker Park, Lady Bird Lake / Barton Springs / Colorado River, Zilker Botanical Gardens, bike & kayak rentals, etc., we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Debbie, Scott & Tony Parker greeted us when we arrived & made sure we had everything we needed while we were there, although we didn't see them almost at all while we were there - even when they had a group of people over for the holiday, it was still very quiet & we felt like we really were in our own little home away from the hustle & bustle of being in Austin. We spent a day at Barton Springs & rented kayaks from Zilker Park (highly recommend, especially for $12/hr & less than a 10 minute walk from the house) & the only time we really drove anywhere was to grab sushi one night & to go zip lining at Lake Travis (another thing I highly recommend doing if you're adventurous - we used Lake Travis Zip Line Adventure). Oh & you're very close to the famous Franklin's BBQ...which unfortunately happened to be closed for expansion of the smokers while we were there, but they are high on our list of places to go when we come back. The Casita itself is exactly how it's described & shown in the pictures, there were no shocks, other than just how beautiful & tucked away it was. We spent mornings having coffee on the deck outside (there is a little grill out there as well although we didn't get a chance to use it), which is nice & private & shaded by lots of tall trees. You have a separate parking space & entry into the home away from Debbie & Scott's entrance down a private alley, so no contending for parking while you're there unless you have more than one vehicle. Overall, if I could give it more than 5 stars, I would in a heartbeat! Thank you so much for your hospitality, Debbie, Scott & Tony Parker. We will definitely come back again soon!
