Perfect Combo of Comfy + Cool

5 of 5
Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We absolutely loved our time in this house. It's a perfect combination of super comfortable + Austin cool - in great South Austin location. Easy access to Ben White (route 71/290) so you can get most places quickly. Since we stayed for two months, we used every inch of the house -- from the comfy screened in porch to the smart kitchen to the tidy laundry room. The high ceilings made it feel super spacious -- and the character of the old house (transom windows, wood floors) gave it such a nice feel. And add the super comfy beds and the jacuzzi tub: heaven! We also used the sleeping cottage regularly -- it was and extra little quiet retreat. Brooke (at Emerson) took excellent care of us too! At the end of our stay, no one was ready to leave!

High grades for this spacious and lovely property

5 of 5
We weren't at all familiar with Dallas and we hit the jackpot with this beautiful guesthouse. In reading the offering we thought that "Uptown" simply meant uptown. Not so. Uptown is a beautiful neighborhood of new and attractive buildings mostly home to young professionals. The tapas restaurant just next door to the guesthouse was excellent for wine and dinner. Many other fine restaurants are within safe walking distance. Free parking was available right across the street. Kay, the owner, who was the decorator for this 5 star guest house arrived each morning with a gourmet breakfast. Normally this is served on the private patio but our mornings were cool so we opted to eat inside. A Kuerig coffee maker is provided for guest use and a small refrigerator is filled with soda and juices for which there is no additional charge. Kay and her husband were very gracious and helpful during our 2 day stay. We just wish we lived closer to this very special place so that we could visit often. A final note: a hotel suite equal to this property would run over $500. per day.
