BEAUTIFULLY LANDSCAPED LOCATION, SO CLEAN!

5 of 5
The tipis and the grounds, and the private restrooms are very clean, the fishing pond and grounds are kept up beautifully with flowers growing everywhere. My children loved fishing in the catch/release pond, everyone caught a fish! Very family friendly atmosphere.

THE GOOD AND THE NOT SO GOOD

4 of 5
My family (husband, wife and two grown children) stayed in the house for two nights in June 2014. There are many good things about the house. It provided comfortable accomodations for our group of 4 adults. The location is great - we were able to walk to restaurants and shops in downtown New Braunfels, as well as to the Comal River for an afternoon of tubing. The kitchen was well equipped; the air conditioning worked great; and we had no problems whatsoever connecting to the internet. There were, however, some things about the house that were not so good. Neither the house nor the yard were as clean and well-maintained as we expected. The back yard in particular was weedy and overgrown and not a place where we or our dogs wanted to spend much time. Also, we decided that the neighbors on the left as you face the house either have a lot of pets or are operating a kennel. Everytime we let our dogs outside, the barking started and did not stop until we brought them in. The neighbor dogs also barked off and on all night long which didn't make for an ideal sleeping situation. We could not find any tubes at the house and ended up purchasing our own. We didn't mind doing this as we will probably use the tubes again; however, the listing should be edited so that future renters will know that they need to bring their own tubes unless they plan to use one of the tube rental companies. Despite these issues we had a very good time and really appreciated the fact that we were allowed to bring our dogs along on our trip.

OUTSTANDING ALTERNATIVE LODGING

5 of 5
We are very outdoorsy camping types. This was like staying in a five star hotel. We did not go without and bragged to all of our friends on the amenities and comfort. In a way, I want to keep this a hidden secret just for us. Oh those beds...who knew that two queen beds and a sleeper sofa would fit inside a tipi...or is it tee pee? Mike, the manager of the property was very accommodating and went above and beyond the call of duty. You are not roughing it here...super nice bathrooms and sitting areas for grilling and chilling. Many couples walking by who live in Sequin stopped to ask us to see inside. They were very impressed and said they lived in Sequin and never knew they existed. We enjoyed the creek in Kayaks and hot tub. If you are looking for something new and exciting, stay here...weekdays very quiet except for the occasional quack from the solo duck that we made friends with. Think outside the box..or shall I say hotel and look into a Tipi stay. You won't regret it:-) We'll be back very soon.
