Utterly peaceful & gorgeous hide-away

5 of 5
When I reserved this quaint cabin, I knew I was in for a relaxing time. What I wasn't expecting the utterly overwhelming beauty, peace, and serenity provided by Chris' cabin. Chris has created a haven of nature that really provides a space where you can feel as though you truly got away from the hustle and bustle. The cabin sits right on a dam and the continuous flow of water is perfect to sit and listing to. Our first night there was a powerful thunderstorm that was gorgeous to experience and when we woke the next morning, the dam was roaring with water! The sounds of everything! The sounds of the chickens running wild, the sounds of the hummingbirds zipping around. The cabin was immensely clean and comfortable and a really fancy grill was provided that allowed us to cook everything from pork to pasta to eggs for breakfast. The metal art scattered throughout the property is incredibly unique (I think they actually make it on location!). Chris also let us use a paddle boat and some floats when swimming. The one thing that may bother some people was the composting toilet in the cabin. You can't put paper in there so it collects in a waste bin next to the toilet. I didn't mind at all but I can see others being a bit uncomfortable. I must say, I personally thought it was wonderful how environmentally conscious they were in installing that toilet. Incredibly kind folks, absolutely gorgeous space. Highly recommended!

So Heavenly

This is a perfect place to unwind and be surrounded by beauty - both nature's and the cabin itself. I loved the remote location and would gladly go back at the drop of a hat. Chris is so lovely - we don't think we would share a treasure like "min paradis". I have been visiting the Hill Country all my life but this location is the most beautiful part of Texas I've ever seen.
