Phenomenal amenities

5 of 5
We recently stayed at this lake house for a week long spring break and had a great time. 1) Lots of space. There are two separate houses. There are 4 bedrooms with separate bathrooms for each bedroom, each with 3-4 beds in the room. In addition, there is a bedroom and a loft together (7 beds total) with a separate bathroom. We had 4 families: 9 adults and 9 kids and we fit comfortably. You can put a family in each bedroom with the number of beds it has, or you can put 4 couples in a separate bedroom and put all the kids in the bedroom plus loft. 2) Great amenities in the grounds. The best feature of this house is all the amenities. The grounds is large. Its probably more than an acre. The second house is a game room (it also has two of the bedrooms with 2 baths) and it has a large flatscreen (we brought our xbox for evening tournaments), a air hockey table, a pool table, and outside it has a table game table, ping pong table and table soccer game. Between the two houses is a very large covered patio (not pictured as its new for 2015) with lots of seating space and an outdoor gas grill and cooking station. This is in front of a very nice pool and spa. There is another area with an outdoor fireplace and sitting area, another covered patio and outdoor dining table, a large yard (lake water is down) for soccer, baseball or kickball (we did all 3), a sand volleyball court and a very nice basketball hoop in the parking area. The outdoor amenities including the fireplace, heated pool and heated spa, plus the outdoor heaters came in real handy. Because of the cool and wet weather we had during our stay, we didn't leave the property for a 2-3 days and had lots to keep us entertained. With 18, a smaller house would have been a challenge and cozy, but with this place, we were never cramped. This was our first time to Lake Buchanan. We didn't get a chance to enjoy or experience the lake with the weather. One warning, the surrounding homes around this lake house are not much to look at- we were expecting more given the lakefront and hill country, but the place is literally a compound with a gated entry and high fence. We went to Inks lake park and the hike to Devil's Waterhole was beautiful. We even saw a bobcat. They will rent canoes, kayaks and paddleboats. 10 minutes away. We also took a drive to Fredericksburg and Pedernales which are both ~ 1 hour away. Marble falls/LBJ is ~ 30 mins. Highly recommend if you have a large party.

In one word: Fabulous!

5 of 5
We stayed here during our annual fall girls "getaway from it all" trip. We could not have been more pleased with our choice to stay here. The house is spacious and cozy at the same time. Everything you could need is here. All of us in my group love to cook and we made use of the wonderful kitchen, stove and double ovens. We also used the BBQ pit each night. Fridge had plenty of room for all of our gourmet snacks and condiments. The property is so beautiful and well taken care of. We spent every night sitting around the fire pit talking and laughing and relaxing. Since the property is so large, we were able to use an outdoor speaker and add music to our days and nights in the yard without disturbing any neighbors. We tossed a football, played catch etc in the yard and made use of the lakefront by taking a couple of hikes. We searched for arrowheads but unfortunately came up empty-handed. We saw deer every night, lots of bird varieties and even caught sight of a beautiful red fox. One of the reasons we chose this home was due to the game room. Weather in the Hill Country can change from one minute to the next and in case of rain, we wanted to have something to do indoors. We had wonderful weather but still enjoyed the heck out of the game room. We used the pool table, foosball and challenged each other on pinball. Really cool! The game room also had a fridge, ice maker and lots of room to sit and enjoy drinks. Had we stayed longer we would have made use of all the board games available. There is a large screen TV but we spent most of our time enjoying the outdoors. The location if the property is easy to get to and if you forget anything, town is just a few minutes away. You know this house was a great choice when before the weekend was even over, our group was already trying to make plans for another visit! Lastly, we can't say enough about Katie the property manager. From start to finish, she was so helpful and accommodating. Reserving the place went smoothly. She explained everything about the property. Upon arrival, we had fresh baked cookies and flowers! You are a gem, Katie! Thanks for everything!

Quaint and comfortable

5 of 5
Our family went on it's first big vacation that included grandmother, her 4 daughters and spouses, plus all the grandchildren and one great grand. We definitely maxed out the cabin but found it still very much suited our needs. The couples and small children took bedrooms and the teenagers slept in the loft. I did not personally climb into the loft which is currently only accessible by a ladder but heard that Dave plans to build stairs on which will make it much easier. The boys were thrilled to use it though. The beds were quite comfortable and I was very impressed. The cabin is well built and great thought has been put into it. I took my three month old baby and was grateful for the solid walls that allowed for limited sound carrying. Combined with our sound machine you could hardly hear anything from outside our bedroom. It was also helpful for those who wanted to sleep in a little when the early birds were ready to be up. We found the kitchen well stocked with all the basic equipment you could need and there is comfortable seating for several in the main living space. We really enjoyed all sitting on the porch though and the unseasonably cool air. The lake is not currently full enough to enjoy many water activities close to the lodge but the adventurers all packed up in the car and headed to nearby Inks Lake State Park and spent the day swimming and cliff jumping. The little ones absolutely loved the darling playset and zipline. There was also room for some frisbee and football and the last night there we had a game of volleyball. All in all we had a great weekend and this was a fabulous place for us. With our ride range in budgets from newlyweds and small children to singles and established incomes this property helped us achieve our goal of a fun getaway while pinching pennies. We managed to spend very little on groceries and cook our meals there. When we had questions Dave was very helpful and it is obvious that he takes great care of the place. I would highly recommend this lodge to anyone and we would definitely return. Thanks so much, Dave!
