Girlfriends Getaway

5 of 5
Four girlfriends spent Martin Luther King weekend at this beautiful home. There was plenty of space for us to spread out and a cozy living room to gather for games, laughter, and sharing. The gas fireplace in the living room was great. Each bedroom had comfortable bedding but we were surprised that there were no clothes hangers in the closets. We found a few hangers in the storage room near the laundry room. The kitchen was spacious and had all of the dishes that we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed the patio and outdoor grill (recommend that long matches be provided). We also enjoyed the hot tub and found the directions easy to follow. Granbury Square was just a few minutes away by car and we enjoyed shopping and eating some of our meals there.

Great Home Away from Home

5 of 5
This was our third time to stay at this home. The photos online are accurate; however, the house feels more "homey and comfortable" than the images depict. As we knew from the news as well as researching online, the area has been in a drought and the lake has been low; certainly lower than our last visit in 2011. With that said, we don't come for the lake. Granbury is great "get away - small town location" for our family to get together. We love the location (few min from the town square) as well as the quite street this house is located on. The home is well maintained, very clean, comfortable with enough bedding for our family of 8 (6 adults and 2 kids). 4 Bedrooms plus a sun porch with beds for the kids and 2 baths. We enjoy spending a day on the Historic Town Square; visiting the shops and eating out. We also appreciate the big open kitchen at this home that is fully equipped with everything you need for family meals or simple snacks. A hot tub has been added since our last visit which we enjoyed each evening with a glass of wine and looking at the stars in the Texas sky. My favorite spot is the front porch swing with a good book. The men all enjoyed the flat screen TV for Sunday football. We all left saying we should not wait another 3 years for our get together at this home. It was even more enjoyable than our past visits.

Perfect for our getaway!

4 of 5
The house was great! TONS of activities. Sand volleyball with balls provided, washer pit. There was a horseshoe pit but we couldn't find the horseshoes. Fire pit and dock were awesome. There were even fishing poles if you forget yours. Kitchen was completely stocked with silverware, plates, cups. I was glad we brought our own dishpacks for the dishwasher so we didn't have to wash by hand. There were plenty of towels, although a few guests in the new houses said theirs smelled soured, like they were put away still slightly damp or something, but they were clean. I did wish that housekeeping would have set out towels on the beds so we'd know which ones were freshly laundered. It was so relaxing, and the owner was quick to respond to concerns. We had a great time in the paddleboat and kayak. Oh, and we enjoyed the hot tub -- it was nice and new -- not the scary old kind. The outdoor grilling area was so cool, too! We put it on a music station and had a blast! Our favorite activity was by far the ping pong table, although my husband was caught out on the trampoline twice! We had no kids with us, but this would be tons of fun with or without kiddos!! Already planning a trip back in the fall!
