Christmas in Glen Rose

5 of 5
Christmas is MAGICAL at this beautiful ranch in Glen Rose---even the second time around! (See our previous review from December, 2012) Hosts Nelson and CJ had decorated evergreen trees at the gate, hung festive jingle bells along the gravel driveway, plus decorated a huge Christmas tree and EVERY room in the house in Christmas splendor. They hit the mark in providing items we appreciated: ample snacks and soft drinks, coffee, luxury towels and linens, extra toiletries---even a Pack-n-Play for our granddaughter. The Guide they sent us ahead of our stay was spot-on with entertainment ideas and restaurant recommendations. We enjoyed the Glen Rose square, and especially Pie Peddlers. Both young grandchildren loved nearby Fossil Rim Wildlife Park. Warm weather enabled us to spend hours traipsing around the ranch and picnicking one afternoon outside. And the fact that these gracious hosts allow us to bring our family dogs? Wow, just wow!

Lovely!

5 of 5
We had a wonderful time in Glen Rose. The house was impeccably clean and charmingly decorated. An added bonus was that it backs up to the Paluxy River. Soft drinks/snacks were provided, which was a special treat and very unexpected. The water pressure in the shower was the best I've ever experienced with a home rental. We ate at Loco Coyote and Storiebook Café, both recommended in the informative pamphlet emailed prior to our arrival, and excellent suggestions. We also tried The Green Pickle for lunch. Fantastic cheeseburger! I would like to inform pet owners, however, that there is NOT a backyard fence on premises and to plan accordingly. We had a very relaxing weekend and enjoyed our time here immensely!

Romantic Getaway

5 of 5
Simply stunning! From the moment we walked into the home it was so more than we expected. You can tell there was a lot of thought and detail put into the decor of the home and to what future visitors may need. The home and amenities offered much more than you could ask for. While sitting on the screened in back porch, the view was lush, quiet and relaxing. As we did not use the fire pit, it was a nice touch to the natural landscaping of the backyard. The bathrooms although beautifully nostalgic offered modern facilities and everything you may need in case you forgot something. You couldn't ask for a more comfortable bed to sleep in with pillow topped mattresses and fresh, clean sheets that smelled fantastic! The WiFi and Hulu Plus on the Smart TV was just enough technology that we needed. The Guide was VERY detailed and offered us good information from the in's and out's of the house to dining and recreational activities that helped us plan our day. All in all, we truly felt comfortable and "at home" here and will definitely make a visit back to the Hideaway in Glen Rose!
