Great place to relax!

5 of 5
My wife and I spent two nights at Tortuga Cay. Beautiful place. Very neat and clean. Looks brand new. They provide kayaks and bicycles. I saw people in the canals in kayaks, but it was a little cool for us to try that. We did thoroughly enjoy the bicycles. I always wanted to try a bicycle built for two. Now I can check that off my list. And, yes, it was fun. I'm sure we entertained everyone with the sight of two senior citizens riding down the street, on a bicycle built for two, laughing like crazy. The bed was great and that is a high priority for us. I can not comment on the pillows since we always pack our own. We slept great both nights we were there and enjoyed our morning coffee on the balcony porch swing. We particularly enjoyed the electric fireplace. I think I need one of those here at home. The heat is optional, so we could enjoy the light and mood of a fireplace even on an evening in July. Nice touch. The only regrets I have is that we didn't set aside the time to book a longer stay and that I didn't bring a fishing pole. There were some big fish swimming around the underwater light both nights we were there. I'm not a dedicated fisherman, but all of those big fish were inspiring me to become one. I would also like to note that the owner of Tortuga Cay, Robin, is a very nice guy. He couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful.

Didn't Want To Leave

5 of 5
What a perfect little vacation. My wife and I and our family had a great time at the beachfront house. The trip was everything we'd hoped for and more. Beautiful, inviting, clean, comfortable, convenient, and quiet. Comfy beds, great showers and every convenience you need to relax and watch the awesome ocean view, birds, and fish. At night we cooked some memorable dinners and played pool upstairs. This was the first time we rented in Galveston even though we've lived in Houston for 20 years, and we're wondering why it took us so long. Five in our group are transplanted from the East Coast where they grew up in a beach town, so these native Texans were quite happy to show them that we also know how to do beach. All the boxes got checked: great views, sounds, smells, and a complete gorgeous house. All up, perfect in every way and we hated to leave. A return visit is certain in the future. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home.

A Trip into Yester-year

5 of 5
We had the pleasure of staying in this home over this Thanksgiving weekend with 2 of our grown children and 3 of our grandchildren. The home is more than you could possibly hope for! Great beds; Bathrooms fully furnished including custom hand lotion, shampoos, conditioner and body wash! It was like being in a museum except with every comfort you could imagine. Dawn even had all the Christmas decorations and the tree up and it was so warm and homey! We used the kitchen and there was nothing that wasn't provided and it was roomy enough for several of us to cook at the same time. The only caution I would give is the driveway in the rear of the house. My daughter-in-law pulled in at night following the layout of the concrete runway with her Honda sedan however the curb (which is fairly tall and not painted to stand out) protrudes about 1 1/2 or 2 feet into the drive lane resulting in her hanging up the front of the sedan on the curb and breaking the clips off that hold the bumper on and it did some damage to the underside of the vehicle as well. We fortunately had rope and tied it back together so she could get home. Otherwise, our family loved the home and the 3 youngsters each said at least one time 'I wish we lived here all the time!' Thank you so much Dawn.
