Cozy Country Getaway

5 of 5
This is a great property with stellar owners! I wanted a quiet weekend alone in nature and that is just what this provided. Mike and Julie just fantastic hosts! They allowed me the privacy I desired, but were ready to meet my requests when I had any. They keep the Casita clean and maintained and I loved that there was no TV. The ranch has plenty of land to explore, including Little Bee Creek. Do take the time to sit on the back side of the tree house on the property to listen to the birds and watch all the beautiful butterflies (it was my favorite part). Just down the road, I visited Hamilton Pool and the Pedernales River, a little further is Pedernales Falls State Park, which is also worth checking out! If you're looking for barbecue, Mike recommended Schmidt Family Barbecue and I will second that! The greatest part about this place is that it's just close enough to enjoy Austin, if you want to include that in your visit, but also far enough away to forget about the hustle and bustle of city life for a while. I would highly recommend Los Madrones and will certainly be returning in the future :)

Cottage at the End of the Road

5 of 5
Our purpose for being in the Dripping Springs environs was to prepare for our daughter's fall wedding at Ma Maison, just 3.5 miles east on Bell Springs Road. We had appointments to keep, tours to take, and food, wines, and craft brews to sample. In addition, we hoped to get some much needed R&R in the country! Well, we succeeded!!1 Arrived Friday before dark with an ice chest full of food and moved in for a long weekend. We felt right at home and were very comfortable. Enjoyed eating on the porch and picnicing on the run. The night sky was brilliant (every night). You feel like your at some remote spot in the Hill Country and yet your less than 10 miles NW of Dripping Springs. Gary and Rene are great hosts!
