A Perfect Accommodation for Our Celebration

5 of 5
When we learned several months ago that business would be bringing us to El Paso on my wife's 70th birthday, she decided that El Paso, where we lived until 2001, would be an interesting site for her celebration. We needed a large house to accommodate the two of us, our daughter's family of four, and a couple who were coming from Houston. This beautiful home was perfect for us. It is attractive, large, well-equipped with appliances and dishes, and extremely comfortable for eight people. We had a party for 22 people one evening, and the home didn't seem crowded with that number. There is even a pool table that several of our guests enjoyed as well as an outdoor fireplace in the front courtyard that some people gathered around during the party. The backyard patio with its Franklin Mountains view added even more beauty to the location. The wireless service was fast, but we did have trouble with our AT&T cell phone reception, which was weak or non-existent in this location up the mountain. We learned from a friend that you can go on the AT&T website and remedy this situation, but we didn't find out from experience. Overall, we loved the house and the neighborhood, and we would happily return to it if the occasion should arise.

Very private, spacious

4 of 5
Enjoyed the stay. My dog got along well with the resident dog, Sasha. The manager of the property, Beth, was an excellent hostess. Her recommendation for dinner was spot on. We would recommend the pizza place as well as Jett's Grill. The Marfa lights are spectacular, and just a short drive from there. We brought our own bicycles, but there are 3 bikes on the property, and suitable for most riders. The only drawback for some may be the close proximity to the railroad, and the train goes by 2 or 3 times a night. And yes, they blow the horn, and yes, it's loud, and it shakes the house... if that may bother you, fair warning. Personally, I thought it was kinda cool. We'll be back - Beth made our stay warm and welcoming.

Comfortable & Calming - Wonderful Abode!

4 of 5
A wonderfully comfortable rental that strikes a great balance between simplicity and stylish. The immaculate kitchen serves as a gathering spot to cook, eat drink and be merry. With the bedrooms spaced across the house - you could be hooting and hollering on one side and sleeping on the other. Great location in Marfa - the home's bikes are an added jem! Only reason I went four stars instead of five was a utilities issue that was outside of the owner's control... but was addressed promptly the next morning and the owner graciously refunded our first night's fees. Jason was a fantastic host and I will definitely consider this home for my next Marfa visit!
