Comfortable Ranch House with Mountain Views

5 of 5
We had a great time at Hope's Ranch relaxing during the day and stargazing at night. The adobe style house was clean, well stocked and had plenty of room to stretch out. Highlights of our trip included the Ft. Davis Historical Site, Ft. Davis State Park, McDonald Observatory, Chihuahua Desert Nature Center, the Davis Mountain Scenic Drive, and side trips to nearby Marfa and Alpine. Our last day we visited the cemetery at the end of the road, recognizing many of the names from the ranches we had seen during our stay. We very much felt at home and will return to Hope's Ranch the next time we are in the Big Bend area.

A Perfect Accommodation for Our Celebration

5 of 5
When we learned several months ago that business would be bringing us to El Paso on my wife's 70th birthday, she decided that El Paso, where we lived until 2001, would be an interesting site for her celebration. We needed a large house to accommodate the two of us, our daughter's family of four, and a couple who were coming from Houston. This beautiful home was perfect for us. It is attractive, large, well-equipped with appliances and dishes, and extremely comfortable for eight people. We had a party for 22 people one evening, and the home didn't seem crowded with that number. There is even a pool table that several of our guests enjoyed as well as an outdoor fireplace in the front courtyard that some people gathered around during the party. The backyard patio with its Franklin Mountains view added even more beauty to the location. The wireless service was fast, but we did have trouble with our AT&T cell phone reception, which was weak or non-existent in this location up the mountain. We learned from a friend that you can go on the AT&T website and remedy this situation, but we didn't find out from experience. Overall, we loved the house and the neighborhood, and we would happily return to it if the occasion should arise.
