Family vaction to Austin (first time to Austin)

5 of 5
Let me start with the owner met us at the house, showed us all around and had snack for us as well, that were delicious, such a nice, personable woman. I agree with the other reviewer the photos don't do it justice. The house is much larger than I thought it would be. This place is beautiful and the views just amazing. You can see a gorgeous sunset from either of the decks and in the morning you hear and see the birds ( cardinals among others). When you come into the house you are actually on the 2nd floor which is where the beautiful kitchen with built in coffee maker! (made delicious coffee). The laundry and ½ bath are on that floor and the deck on that level has comfortable seating (couch, chairs, coffee table, small table with 2 chairs etc.) we ate out there one night and watched the amazing sunset! The 3 bedrooms are on the lower level and have a great area with a pool table, a high top table with chairs, another section with couches and TV and a bar area with coffeemaker etc. We had so much fun playing pool! There were 6 adults and a 2 year old and we had plenty of room for all. It only took us a few minutes to get downtown from there. I would highly recommend and rent again.

Perfect home for our trip SXSW

5 of 5
I stayed at this house for four night with a few of my co-workers. We have done the downtown Austin SXSW hotel scene for a few years and this time we wanted something more relaxing and peaceful. We could not have picked a better home. Valerie promptly answered our (many) questions prior to our arrival, and when we got to the house we were greeted with total luxury. This house was perfect. The view from the deck was amazing, the house was clean, cozy and comfortable. The bedrooms and bathrooms were exactly what we expected. The nearby grocery store fulfilled all our needs (although may we suggest investing in sharper kitchen knives). We were able to get Uber cars to take us downtown quickly and easily. We will definitely try to rent this house again next year.

Country Cottage, Full of Charm

5 of 5
My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights with our two dogs and enjoyed every minute. We had planned to see more of Austin, but we found it hard to leave once we arrived. The atmosphere is hill country charm and cozy. The cottage is nestled in a grove of oaks, near the top of hill along the side of the large property. It has a private gated walkway leading past the chicken coop to the inner garden. From there you’ll step onto the roomy, covered porch. Inside you’ll find a well equipped kitchen with a fridge and stove. Fresh eggs were waiting for us and coffee with a French press. We like to cook so we dined in every night. There are Pots, pans, plates, tools, knives etc. The Local HEB is only 10 minutes away. Take a look through the cabinets and you’ll find the essential condiments as well. There is a flat screen TV, wireless internet; a queen size bed, a sofa, small work and dining table; also, there is a nice patio table on the deck. The bathroom is fully tiled and roomy with a large walk in shower. Nice fixtures for the vanity sink. The outside shed has a washer dryer. We really didn’t need anything. We sipped our wine in the quiet evenings and enjoyed the solitude. We took the dogs walking through the Commons Ford Park 5 minutes away. It is a wildlife preserve park along the riverside with winding trails for biking or jogging. There were plenty of deer and birds. Our host Claudia was gracious and there to greet us and show us the amenities. Before we departed we toured her pottery studio. You’ll find examples of her colorful art in the bathroom tiles, the kitchen dishes, and in statues on the property. It is a small but well planned space. If you want to get away from it all and still be 20 minutes from downtown. This is the place!
