Well maintained and perfectly located!!!

5 of 5
My wife and I went to Austin for a brief getaway and to attend a concert. It was the first time there for both of us and where we very pleased with the experience. The city is very inviting and clean. There are a ton of places to entertain yourself at. The county/city parks and spring fed pools are awesome, state parks offer some great hiking, shopping is right around the corner, there a several entertainment districts, incredible bars, and the place is full of restaurants that will leave your mouth watering for more. In 4 days we did not have a single meal that was not incredible. Accommodations - the house gets an A+. It is actually a duplex, but you would never know it other than seeing the other tenants car in the driveway. It's located in an upscale residential neighborhood that is beautiful and incredibly located . Your less than a mile from the South Congress ave area and a short cab ride to the party areas of Downtown ($10-20 cab ride). The owners have taken great care in maintaining the property in tip top condition. There is a front porch that wraps around to the side which I found to be a great place to sit each afternoon. Your close to the highway, but again would never know it, so getting out and about is a breeze. In all the rentals we have stayed over the years the bedding in this unit was in the top tier for comfort. The unit has been tastefully remodeled. No corners where cut which to me says a lot about the owners and their willingness to provide the best experience to the renter as possible, which is what we had.

great weekend getaway

4 of 5
the house was in a great location, 1/2 mile to So. Congress and a few blocks to the lake for those morning runs. the pictures are a true representation of the house. the house was very clean, organized even though it appears lived in with a family. the master bedroom was extremely large, we asked to use their air mattress and it fit in the master. the other 2 rooms are quite small but it did the trick for a single in each of those rooms. the fireplace outside was a great amenity with smores skewers available to use. the owner was very quick and responsive, extremely easy to work with. if i could add something i'd say i was a little worried about what the clean up duties were on checkout but didnt know quite what was expected. maybe just a written dos/donts list as well as a check off list of check out requirements would be great. or even some info about how best to access the lake. (we ended up asking a neighbor for a shortcut) i know it seems a little unfair to give 4 stars considering how happy we were with the location, house, access, etc etc. but theres a neighbor that did not like the noise at night while we were at the fireplace. very understandable, but did kill the mood a little. but again, the house and the owner, great! i'd stay there again if she would allow! thank you again!
