A perfect stay..

5 of 5
A great getaway- location is fabulous! 5 minutes away from most historical venues! Near grocery, wine store, restaurants and attractoins. This cottage was amazingly appointed with everything from coffee provided, food supplies and even vegan selections! One would not have to shop right away upon arrival! Beds were super comfortable and furnace was most welcome and easy to operate as we hit Austin during a cold snap. The kitchen was beautiful and had everything needed. Owners close by in case needed for directions. The best? a security system that was most likely unneccessary but contributed to feeling secure.

Cozy cottage in great location

This is our third time renting from Vacation Cake Rentals. Each has been a great experience! Jay and Lauren have been great to work with and are responsive to my requests. This place is very cozy and very comfortable for two people. The pictures do need updating as the opening next to the bed has been removed and some furnishings have been updated. You can easily walk to the restaurants on Barton Springs and some on Lamar. The Alamo Draft house theater is also a short walk. It is a great place to enjoy a movie, a meal or snack and a beer?. Go to Mutha Effen Bingo at The Park on Lamar on Tuesday night for a fun time. The food and drinks are good also. Visit the Whole Foods mother ship at Lamar and 5th. Unbelievable! Can't wait to rent again.

Truly home from home

5 of 5
I cannot recommend this property or the service I received highly enough. I had been looking for a property in Austin for an extended period and finally found this gorgeous house near Mopac and 35th. The booking process was very easy, (somewhat of an achievement in itself for a UK resident booking a US property!) and the check-in was quick, efficient and introduced me to my charming host! Over the next five weeks I found the house to be perfect for my needs, and in an area of Austin that is perfect for any visitors. Downtown is ten minutes away, even in the heaviest traffic, and there are numerous retail and dining establishments nearby that make the neighborhood perfect - i particularly recommend Central Market on Lamar for your food and drink, and Kerbey Lane cafe for its queso... I left in November with a heavy heart, feeling like I was leaving a home, because that's what this property is - home.
