BEAUTIFUL CABIN IN THE WOODS

5 of 5
My husband and I rented this cabin for 6 nights! It was more house than we needed, but it was exactly what we were looking for! seclusion and close to the Cherokee National Forest! The cabin is beautiful. The master bedroom was in the loft area of the house. We never used the basement area of the home, but if you have kids, they will love it! video game systems, movies, board games, ping pong table and darts! The hot tub was a hit! After long walks in the forest and surrounding areas, that's just what the Dr. ordered-a hot tub! We saw 2 dear and 1 turkey just outside the house. The driveway is steep, but ok after you give it alittle gas. We did a lot of driving around looking at the area. Beautiful! NO CELL PHONE service is right! We did give our family the house number. The internet worked well-except for 1 day after a storm. The owner returned my call promptly and internet was restored! The only thing that was unclean was the ceiling fan over the master bed in the loft area. I turned it on and dust flew everywhere...otherwise, very clean. This is the perfect family place to stay-children young and old can enjoy! Happy Ours Cabin was our home for 7 days and we enjoyed every day we were there! If we are ever in the area again, we will stay at Happy Ours!

Great vacation home!!!

5 of 5
We have stayed in many nice vacation homes and were very impressed with this home which was so beautifully decorated and exceptionally stocked with everything you could need. Everything was very new and well thought out to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. This is a perfect rental for 2 couples with both bedrooms being very much like a Master bedroom. One is on the first floor and the other on the third with the main level in between. The waterfall is fabulous and so relaxing to listen to. Donna was great to work with. There are many things to do in the area. We especially enjoyed the Virginia Creeper bicycle ride in Damascus VA.

A Great Relief!

5 of 5
This was our first experience with renting a home/cabin for our vacation. If any future rentals anywhere compare to this one I will feel very, very fortunate. The whole process went smoothly from start to finish. We booked a year ahead, took advantage of the payment plan and was very pleased with the results. Red Top is a home and a half! So comfortable. It's very large, yet very cozy. Mornings were the greatest, enjoying coffee on the deck waiting for sunrise. We even had the chance to enjoy a couple nighttime thunderstorms during our stay, which was something that we had hoped for. We were welcomed by "Susie", a neighboring dog who was very friendly and easily adoptable. lol She came down the mountain every day to accompany anybody who happened to want a walking partner. The area in general is very picturesque. If you feel the need to travel around there are many sights to see within an hour drive or less. We rented a pontoon boat for an afternoon and spent some time on the lake just soaking in the beauty of it all. Some of our group traveled to Bristol to take in some NASCAR events. Which was another great experience in itself! We were treated very nicely by everyone we encountered during our stay. The locals were all helpful in answering questions or just making conversation. Despite an accident requiring a trip to the ER, our week spent at Red Top Retreat will be very memorable and cherished as a great time spent with family members. A great place for us as siblings to step back in time and become reacquainted. One of the best vacations we've ever had. Thank you Melody for sharing with us!
