The property manager was adequately helpful.
The vacation rental was very clean.
I was more than happy with the location.
I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental.
We have stayed at Gate House Lodge many times, this was our first in this unit. The location is wonderful, hearing the creek is very peaceful. Our complaints would be: 1) sliding glass door has no drapes/blinds, etc. - open for all the world to see inside day and nightm and 2) the box on the door that holds the key is a nightmare. You must put in a lock code, like a bike lock, then push down a lever while also pulling out and then it opens and you get the door key. DO NOT forget to place the key back in the lock box and leave it laying inside. If you leave the key inside and the door shuts, you are locked out. Management refused to give another key. The door lock itself (after retrieving the key), was in itself a puzzle, one had to turn key to the right while pulling in on the door handle to get it to unlock. Would not stay here again unless they change locking mechanism to a touchpad minus a door key - just too much trouble. The creekside bedroom has rather old furniture, but a lovely secretary displaying some books. The bed is very firm and tilts down at the head, not too comfy to sleep with your head down and feet higher. On the plus side this is a larger unit, the living area is larger than non-corner units. The unit was very clean, smelled clean, no evidence of bugs, mold, or mildew. Overall, it met all our needs, and if they change out that lock mechanism, I would definitely stay here again.
