My family spent the Easter week in the cabin at ADLF and had a wonderful vacation. Our hosts, Ed and Ginny, were attentive and immediately responsive to any questions or concerns BUT were all but invisible for the remainder of the time we spent at the cabin. Here is a breakdown of the cabin and amenities The cabin was VERY clean and well stocked with just about everything you could think of. We had quite a few people (and 2 dogs - a jack-weenie and a full grown German Shepard) with us and found the cabin very spacious! The kids loved learning all about the llamas and watched them do their "perimeter walk" throughout the day. The horses and donkeys also were fun to watch and interact with. The climate control in the cabin worked well and all of the "extras" such as Wifi and SAT TV were great for the few hours of rain we encountered. The cabin is away from it all (it is a short ride to the main road which can seem a bit longer than it actually is). Once you get the "hang of it" getting to and from is easy (even an adventure) but don't arrive after nightfall during a thunderstorm. Ginny and Ed were kind enough to stay up late on Good Friday to assist two cars arriving from different places to find the cabin. Around the cabin there is plenty to do, from local horseback riding and hiking trails, to a short trip out to tourist areas such as Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge ...etc. The "locals" are all very accommodating and visitors experience the true "southern hospitality" that TN is known for. Our dogs also had a great time. After getting to know and be comfortable with one another, Ed and Ginny came over to the cabin when the family went out and made sure that the pups were let out and fed and watered. The dogs loved to run in the spacious fenced yard and bark at the horses and donkeys. They are still trying to figure out the 6 foot tall dogs we call llamas. All in all, some of our party have been to the "Smokies" many times ... others, not at all. We had dogs, kids (11, 13, 13 & 17) and grandma even celebrated her birthday on Thursday while in the cabin! Everyone had a great time. The cabin is clean and well stocked, the location is a perfect balance between rural and close to everything, the locals are hospitable and friendly, the farm is unique and the hosts are accommodating but unobtrusive. I highly recommend this cabin for your next vacation !!!!
