                      NICE FAMILY GETAWAY!

                      4 of 5
We had a great time in this cabin (2 adults, 10 yr old, 2 x 5 yr olds and a 18 month old)! We grilled out plenty (don't forget coals and fluid!). The kids enjoyed the jacuzzi EVERY night, while we enjoyed the hot tub outside when the kids went to bed. The community pools were awesome and the workers were extremely friendly! We went into the city daily to look/walk around and enjoy all of the awesome shops (all the boys brought home some nunchucks!) Also googled some trails (Laurel Falls Trail) and went on a hike to a waterfall (grotto falls) and also stopped off to picnic and let the boys play in the creeks/rivers. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. We left a baby blanket and the owners organized for the cleaning crew to send it to us!!!! Look forward to coming back next year! :)

WONDERFUL, QUIET MOUNTAIN RETREAT FOR FAMILIES OR COUPLES!

                      5 of 5
Our family of 6 (2 adults and 4 children ages 15, 12, 6 and 2) stayed at the Cub House for Thanksgiving Week. It was a wonderful retreat just a short drive away from the busyness of downtown Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Our children enjoyed the amazing views, the hot tub, backyard deck and the pool table. The first night we saw 2 bears down the hill and on Thanksgiving Day we saw wild turkeys roaming the yard! The road the house is on runs alongside an undeveloped area of the mountains, so it is very quiet and a good bit of wildlife. During the week we also saw rabbits, birds and squirrels. The highlight of the trip was 3 inches of snow the day before Thanksgiving! The bedrooms were a good size and comfortable and the kitchen made cooking a breeze. There are plenty of things to do in Gatlinburg and the surrounding area. Everything is just a few minutes down the mountain and into town. Many places to eat, shop, etc. And grocery stores to stock up on food to bring back to the house. Just a heads up - Gatlinburg changed overnight when Thanksgiving Day came. There was hardly anyone in town but locals the days before Thanksgiving. Once Thanksgiving came, the traffic was bumper to bumper getting into town. Thanksgiving also seems to coincide with the opening of Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort. It's a wonderful place to go skiing, skating, tubing, etc. Or even just to ride the aerial tram to get an amazing view of the mountains. Just be aware that Gatlinburg will be different before and after Thanksgiving. Overall we loved our trip, we loved the Cub House, and we would definitely stay there again.

                      LARGE FAMILY VACATION DREAM!

                      5 of 5
Terrace Gardens and the folks behind it have one of the nicest homes/chalets we have ever experienced, especially for our group of 25. Everything you see is what you get, and we enjoyed the unique architecture, incredibly large 2 acre property (the children played the entire day in the forest) offset from the roads. We're frequent vacationers in Gatlinburg, and most chalets are right on the road with no parking or place for children to play. Not at Terrace Gardens. The location was super convenient to Gatlinburg and the ski slopes, and working with Eric to book the house was so easy and accommodating. We're definitely going to be booking our yearly vacation here from now on. They are constantly improving the home and the handicap accessible bathroom was perfect for the elders of our group. Another thing that can't be described is how incredible the views are here, you can see Mt LeConte (the highest mountain the Appalachain range) right from the loft and main terrace. The maintenance folks are also incredibly sweet and accommodating for what turned out to be a leak that we caused. All the beds are comfortable and fitted with clean sheets. Towels are also in abundance and nearly everything you need (except food!) is ready for you. They even have two refridgerators for massive groups, trust me - when you have 25 people you fill up the freezer VERY fast. We also had a tight budget and Eric was willing to work with us on fitting within our budget, the price per night works out to be such a good deal when you've got beds, bathrooms for such a large group. Just ask them and they'll do their best to help you out and make you a repeat customer. They even gave us a coupon for our children to eat free at a restaurant called The River Road Pancake House when we booked. Thanks again Terrace Gardens! See you next year.
