                        Gorgeous, Comfortable, Tranquil, & Convenient

                        5 of 5
This villa is everything the description says and more. Possibly the most relaxing vacation my husband & I have ever taken. This was our first trip to Bequia, and loved the island and its people. This villa is super spacious with wonderful views, privacy and everything you need to enjoy your stay. Conveniently close to Lower Bay Beach (which we had many times to ourselves), and within walking distance to Port Elizabeth (if you are healthy). Part of the walk is along the beach and a stone wall walk by restaurants and shops. We rented a car, but not sure if we would again. Taxis are abundant, however, be ready for an open air truck with canopy. Patrick, the villa's onsite manager and chef, is attentive, helpful, and an amazing chef. He cooked dinner for us 3 nights and they were all delicious. His wife, Miranda does the housecleaning, and she is sweet and the villa is spotless. Waking up to the ocean view in the master was amazing. There are so many seating areas that even if you had six staying you could have plenty of privacy or space to read, etc. All the baths are large and beautiful. Cannot say enough great things - cannot wait to go back and we will definitely rent this villa again. Alexandra (owner) was very prompt in responding throughout the rental process and is an excellent communicator. You will absolutely fall in love with villa and its location!

A magical spot: Relaxing, refreshing and romantic

                        5 of 5
Hope House transported us to a simpler era; time slowed down, the views hypnotized, the bananaquits and anoles enchanted. We've been there twice, both times in March, and were immediately reminded of the US Virgin Islands back before they became a cruise ship “destination.” A comfortable, relaxing, refreshing Eden far away from the real world.... For us, the house has a great layout for three couples travelling together, lovely West Indian stonework, ingenious louvered shutters, and private porches with each bedroom, while the kitchen and indoor living room/outdoor main porch were ideal spots for all of us to gather together for cocktails or backgammon or emailing the outside world. While we hesitated to leave this hilltop paradise, the hike down to the beach is worth every step (and better exercise than going to a gym). A fun adventure. Next time, we’d bring a picnic lunch, a couple good books, snorkels and masks and plan to stay longer. Port Elizabeth is wonderfully colorful. One afternoon we stopped to ask a fisherman about his day’s catch and ended up buying some of it for our dinner. Other places to enjoy, in Port Elizabeth and around the island, include Jack’s Bar and Grill on Princess Margaret Beach, pizza at Mac’s Pizzeria, lunch at Sugar Reef Café, dinner at Devil’s Table or Gingerbread or Tante Pearl’s (an amazing place from which to watch the sunset), shopping at Whaleboner (beautiful fabrics!), the Old Hegg Turtle Sanctuary, and a day sail on the Friendship Rose, a magnificent schooner built in Friendship Bay (the moment you climb aboard, they give you fresh coffee and a delicious breakfast). Speaking of delicious, back at Hope House, every meal prepared by cook Selma was delightful, and her chicken curry is amazing, and whenever we had questions about the property, the island, St. Vincents or the Grenadines, Hope House’s manager, Herman, willingly shared history and stories. The only bad thing: Having to say goodbye. Hope House will work its way into your heart -- it's a special place worth sharing with friends.
