Which is more important to you: form or function? At Villa Namaste it won’t matter, as this villa is spot on in both aspects. The presentation of the home is absolutely amazing and while renovating, the owners gave great attention to details. We were especially impressed with the stellar craftsmanship of the installation of the lovely ceramic floors. However, their best renovation feature, by far, was the removal of the sea wall and installation of the lip pool. Being able to sit in/near the pool and look at the ocean was a huge plus! Further, when members of our party were paddle boarding or snorkeling in the water, we felt that we still had a connection with them. Although there were only two poolside lounge chairs, they were plenty since the owners provided two additional and comfy Fatboys for lounging and napping.
The color scheme was beautifully carried throughout the living area and kitchen. The bright apple green cabinets were mimicked not only in the accessories (such as the pillows on the couch) but were carried through in the dishes. Even the storage containers and travel coffee carafes sported the cheery green!
The kitchen was hands down the best appointed kitchen we’ve ever found in a rental! The kitchen cabinets were supplemented by the island, which offered large storage drawers on both sides—which allowed us to keep everything neatly tucked out of view.
We were also impressed that the owners supplied us with all of the cleaning utensils and supplies that we’d normally be expected to purchase (paper towels, garbage bags, dishwashing and dishwasher soap, etc.) that we needed to help keep the villa clean. However, that wasn’t a problem, since Olive (Housekeeper Extraordinaire!) arrived daily to tidy up. The owners also allowed us free access to the laundry room and detergent. Amazingly, they even provided liquid soap for showering!
Just in case you’re wondering, we are well-seasoned travelers who’ve been renting villas in both the USVI and BVI since the early ‘90’s. As such, be a bit difficult to impress. Nonetheless, we easily ranked Villa Namaste at the very top of the long list of beautiful homes in which we’ve stayed. If you have a chance, you should definitely treat yourself to at least a week there!
