Amazing Views, Incredible people...happy Memories

We really enjoyed our stay at Treehouse II. The adventure started from the second we landed, where we were met by our driver. He met us with a smile, and a cold beer - no better way to start a vacation!! The drive to the treehouse is not for the faint of heart. From the second you leave soufrierre and start climbing the hill we realized that we had made a wise decision not to rent a car. Only experts should be driving here. Roads are made of dirt, narrow and the drop into the Caribbean sea is sheer! Use Benton's cars to take you around the island. His drivers are always on time and very knowledgeable and pleasant. When we arrived, we were met by Charmaine. Charmaine is WONDERFUL and a true asset to the treehouse. We were provided a home cooked meal and shown all the amenities of the property. The villa is clean, nicely sized and has everything you need to feel at home. The plunge pool, deck and gardens and beautifully kept and so private. We felt like we were the only people for miles! The next day we walked down to Anse Chastenet beach. The walk down was fine, but I do offer a word of caution to the unfit or injured- what goes down must come up, and up and up. It is quite the hike. Wear real sandles or you may find your journey even more difficult to make. Anse chastenet beach is beautiful. We chose a spot on the sand and swam and snorkeled. The snorkeling here is lovely, but beware the jellyfish that frequent! They seemed better after noon. You can eat at the resort, but I will be honest and say that I wasn't that impressed with the food there. Especially given how expensive the meal was. My recommendation is to cook for yourself, or have Charmaine pick up some incredible local food. Sam has provided a BBQ for your use :) My only solid recommendation would be to bring a very strong bug spray with you! Sam provides repellent but it just wasn't strong enough for me. I have never been bitten so much in my life. My husband was luckier than I and didn't suffer quite as much. I guess I am yummy. It's the price you pay for being at one with nature and part of the adventure! Because the main rooms are not air conditioned and it is warm, you do need to leave the doors open. This can lead to a few bugs (mostly suicidal beetles who would launch themselves at your head) but I saw only one cockroach and it was very dead! We would go back in a heartbeat...a true adventure! Thank you to everyone who made our visit so special.
