LA BATTERIE EXCEEDED OUR BEST HOPES!

                      5 of 5
First, the photos posted on-line do not begin to show how beautiful the La Batterie house and grounds are, and the view from the balcony- and front bedroom- is the best on the island. The property is a tough half-hour walk from Soufriere, but it is that climb that produces the view. It may be worth renting a car for exploring the island, but the first time up the road is not for the faint of heart, especially at night. There is a local driver who is very cooperative, but maybe worth setting fares ahead of time as he is quite expensive. The three bedrooms are each distinctive, and there is plenty of room for getting away from everyone and everything. Each morning you wake in a private garden better than most resorts, and the only sound is birds and the breeze. The house is very clean, kitchen is well-equipped though its galley-style may work better for the housekeeping staff than as a central gathering place. They will cook for you which was particularly helpful on our day of arrival. Meat is of very limited selection in Soufriere. The pool is big and very well-kept, and is set in the back, amidst the mango trees, palms and flowers. Good BBQ next to the pool. We were very impressed with the owners' quick response to any enquiries we had, and appreciated all the advice they offered. We ate out at Ladera, which has great choice and quality of food, for dinner. Orlando's for lunch near the villa really impressed us with his delicious and sophisticated versions of local food. The Anse Chastanet resort is past the villa, not a bad walk, and we had a good sunset dinner there, Indian cuisine, reasonable value. Soufriere town is worth a visit or two, but don't expect anything upscale. It grows on you. The locals are pleasant, and the old architecture is worth seeing. If you need to shop, head to the capital, and enjoy the ride along the hillsides. Parking in Castries is awkward- try the carpark building. We visited the volcano, which is not overwhelming. But really, preferred to hang around the villa. Overall, this property definitely exceeded our expectations, and is a great place to get away from it all. Craig and Krystyna

                      TROPICAL PARADISE

                      5 of 5
WOW!!!! What a spectacular tropical paradise! The Treehouse II exceeded all of our expectations in every way. We so enjoyed waking up to the most spectacular view of the Pitons, glorius sunsets, and the natural beauty of this tropical paradise. The Treehouse II is an open living villa in a gorgeous natural setting. Its called the TREEHOUSE for a reason! I was a bit worried about the open air environment ( not too crazy about bugs and critters ), but it proved to be one of my favorite features of the villa. Didn't see bugs, mosquitos or critters. We throughly enjoyed the many different species of birds that call the lush foliage surrounding the Treehouse their home. They enjoyed being fed bananas, while we enjoyed their singing in return. The Treehouse II is located in the most perfect area. It is a short hike to the black sand beaches of Anse Chastenet. The resort at Anse Chastenet offered relaxation, snorkeling, scuba diving, and fantastic food and drinks. The local Mojito was really yummy! The Treehouse II is also a short walk to the city of Soufriere, where you will conviently find the grocery store, produce markets, and the ATM. After a short driver from the Treehouse II, we found ourselves ZIPPING through the rain forest, hiking to a waterfall and enjoying the local Botanical Garden. One of my favorite things from the trip was meeting Sam, Charmaine, Benton, and many other staff members. The trip would not have been the same without the graciousness of each one. Sam was beyond helpful in all aspects of our trip planning. He helped us make arrangements for activities, taxis, and water excursions. Charmaine was incredibly attentive to all of our needs. We were greeted our first night at the Treehouse II with a fabulous home cooked St. Lucian meal. I will have to say it was the BEST meal of the entire trip! Thank you to all who made our trip very special!!! We cant wait to return to the Treehouse II. Adventure seekersAge 55t

OPEN CONCEPT TREE HOUSE -- ROMANTIC, RELAXING, STUNNING

                      5 of 5
The photos barely are able to do justice to this jaw-dropping and totally stunning house. The lookout tower provides some of the best Piton views on the whole island and the three-sided house affords cool breezes and unrestricted ocean views. The house is a short drive or walk from Jalousie's lovely Sugar Beach and hop away from the trailhead of Gros Piton nature trail. The staff, Mary and Pious, we're incredibly kind, making our stay as enjoyable as possible. There are a wealth of daytime activities to take advantage of, as well as swishy dining options within a short drive. We rented the house with two other couples but in the future would probably just rent for a total of 4 people. One bedroom is a bit of a pass through, which is probably great for families and children, but a little less than optimal for couples. That said, we still had a blast! With permission, we hosted our rehearsal dinner at the house, welcoming 20+ guests to enjoy the beauty of Maison and take part in a fun filled feast. The house and staff were generous and accomodating to the extreme and the event was a total success. The swinging chairs and poolside lounging inspire relaxation and the open concept kitchen made shared cooking responsibilities a joy. The sound system is also great, so don't forget to pack some music! The weather was perfect, bugs were not a factor, and every day waking up in Maison was a thrill. The only thing I would caution is that if you have mobility or vision issues, this is probably not the house for you. The steps and numerous and uneven, challenging during the day and increasingly tricky at night. Overall, an awesome, epic time, we hope to return again! A+!
