Wonderful stay at 8 Bay View Townhouse!

5 of 5
We had a wonderful two week stay at this condo. It was exactly how it was described on the Dragonfly website. Victoria was a doll to deal with right from the start which happened in July of 2014. The proximity to Rodney Bay, the restaurants, shops and the beach was a huge reason we selected this condo. It was nice to have the onsite washer and dryer, it meant we didn't have to pack as much as we usually did for our two week vacations at all inclusive resorts. We cooked dinner once in the condo and had everything we needed to make our pasta, salad and bread. By the way there is even a bread machine in the cupboard! The pool is literally 10 steps from the back patio. And the boat dock is literally 10 steps from the pool. We had the pool to ourselves most days but then on weekends the neighbours would be home from work and we would get to gave a bit of company and conversation while sitting in one of the 6 loungers that are around the pool. We met other Canadians, a couple from Turkey, and a couple that owned Matthews Restaurant in Rodney Bay around the pool. The ocean is a bit of a walk but as long as you pack everything you need for the day you will be fine. We would highly recommend this condo to travellers to St. Lucia that want to do their own things on their own time. This condo is very centrally located and a pleasure to live in. The people of St. Lucia were fantastic, we travelled the local bus, and had fun getting around so easily from our place.

Admirals Quay/Rodney Bay Condo

4 of 5
Arrived Saturday 12/27 and were met at the airport by Jefferson. Victoria, the local property manager (who was great to deal with) made the arrangements. $90 US and 90 minutes after pick up we arrived at the condo in the heart of Rodney Bay. The location is unbeatable. You are in a gated community with a shared pool and this unit is not more than 25 feet from the back patio gate to the pool. Very, very tropical setting and very, very private on your back patio. We spent every morning back there reading and drinking coffee. The unit itself is clean and adequate. Two air conditioned bedrooms upstairs each with its own bath (1 is en suite). The ceilings in the bedrooms are vaulted and very nice. ACs worked well. There is a powder room on the main floor as well but NO AC on the main floor. Not a huge deal. As long as you have front and back doors open there is a nice breeze. Kitchen is fine too although a Teflon/nonstick pan would be great for eggs. No complaints, more an observation. Washer and dryer are in a small room off the kitchen. Really nice to have. The condo is about a 5 minute walk (max) to Reduit beach and Spinnakers beach bar/restaurant. Several restaurants within that same 5-6 minute walk and less than 10 to "downtown" Rodney Bay where you can stock up on groceries. BTW, Victoria was kind enough to stock us some staples for when we arrived for a very nominal fee. Our favorite restaurant was probably La Terrasse followed very closely by Blue Olive. Don't be turned off by the fact that its in "the mall". Spinnakers was ok for a first night meal but not outstanding and not inexpensive. Better place for drinks on the beach during the day! We had a disastrous meal at FireGrill--uncooked, forever to be served (90 minutes) over priced. They did take money off which is all you can ask. Do not miss the jump up party at Gros Islet. It's a big multi block party with grilled fresh fish, outdoor bar set ups, and some jewelry vendors. About 5+ minutes from the condo. We ate at a place called Dukes and my family of 4 ate for $30 US! We also took two tours. One was a land tour down to Anse Chastanet beach with Island Man Taxi. Kurt is/was awesome. The other was a Piton Sunset Catamaran Cruise with Carnival Sailing from 2-7 with 45 minutes of snorkeling at Sugar Beach BETWEEN the Pitons. It's like swimming in an aquarium. Not cheap, $85 pp US for adults, but they do include transfers. All in all, a great trip.

Location: Awesome

5 of 5
Amazing place! We had never been to the Caribbean so we did not really know what to expect, but the whole place exceeded our expectations by a million miles. The listing on the homeaway website was accurate, and the layout was the same pretty much as depicted, and it was clean and well maintained, although the garden was a touch dry here and there but we were told that there had been no rain for ages and in fact it did not rain at all except for once or twice in the night, so I think Vincent did an awesome job to keep it as green as it was. It was like a little oasis of heaven, a little slice of heaven where we just completely unwound and relaxed. We ate our breakfast out in the manicured little garden above the pool and there were lots and lots of hummingbirds to keep us company! All around the little mown lawn and hedges of ficus (i think!?) at the back were huge trees as there are no houses above the villa, so it was so peaceful and magical. I really wish we could buy the place and live there forever (pipe dream again!). Leslie was very kind and courteous and did offer to arrange a few tours of the island although we never got around to doing any of that as we just ended up swimming in the pool and totally flopping around. We will surely do some touring next time as the few locals (the taxi driver and the check-out girls at the grocery stores) were charming. There are some basic groceries when you arrive but you do have to get to the shop to stock up on the things you want. Overall my husband and I look back on our stay with such fond memories and we can't wait to come back. It was so so lovely. The customer service was great and it was easy to book and sort all that boring stuff out. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to de-stress and enjoy a wonderful and regenerating holiday in a beautiful place. The little beach about 5 minutes away was also gorgeous. Overall it was a wonderful experience we can't wait to repeat! Thank you to Vincent and Leslie!!
