Arrived Saturday 12/27 and were met at the airport by Jefferson. Victoria, the local property manager (who was great to deal with) made the arrangements. $90 US and 90 minutes after pick up we arrived at the condo in the heart of Rodney Bay. The location is unbeatable. You are in a gated community with a shared pool and this unit is not more than 25 feet from the back patio gate to the pool. Very, very tropical setting and very, very private on your back patio. We spent every morning back there reading and drinking coffee. The unit itself is clean and adequate. Two air conditioned bedrooms upstairs each with its own bath (1 is en suite). The ceilings in the bedrooms are vaulted and very nice. ACs worked well. There is a powder room on the main floor as well but NO AC on the main floor. Not a huge deal. As long as you have front and back doors open there is a nice breeze. Kitchen is fine too although a Teflon/nonstick pan would be great for eggs. No complaints, more an observation. Washer and dryer are in a small room off the kitchen. Really nice to have. The condo is about a 5 minute walk (max) to Reduit beach and Spinnakers beach bar/restaurant. Several restaurants within that same 5-6 minute walk and less than 10 to "downtown" Rodney Bay where you can stock up on groceries. BTW, Victoria was kind enough to stock us some staples for when we arrived for a very nominal fee.
Our favorite restaurant was probably La Terrasse followed very closely by Blue Olive. Don't be turned off by the fact that its in "the mall". Spinnakers was ok for a first night meal but not outstanding and not inexpensive. Better place for drinks on the beach during the day! We had a disastrous meal at FireGrill--uncooked, forever to be served (90 minutes) over priced. They did take money off which is all you can ask. Do not miss the jump up party at Gros Islet. It's a big multi block party with grilled fresh fish, outdoor bar set ups, and some jewelry vendors. About 5+ minutes from the condo. We ate at a place called Dukes and my family of 4 ate for $30 US!
We also took two tours. One was a land tour down to Anse Chastanet beach with Island Man Taxi. Kurt is/was awesome. The other was a Piton Sunset Catamaran Cruise with Carnival Sailing from 2-7 with 45 minutes of snorkeling at Sugar Beach BETWEEN the Pitons. It's like swimming in an aquarium. Not cheap, $85 pp US for adults, but they do include transfers.
All in all, a great trip.
