A VERY Special Place to Stay in St. Lucia

5 of 5
What a spectacular location on the hillside in Marigot Bay, which could be the prettiest bay in the Caribbean. The Great House is placed about halfway up the hill on the south side of the bay. It is a steep 10-12 min walk from the marina, or a <5 minute drive. The house and yard are very well maintained. Both maid and gardener were very helpful when we need them, and present for an hour or more every day except one day each week (don't remember which day). The ads for The Great house are not very clear; there are two(+) rental units at The Great House. A 1BR 1BA with living room and kitchen downstairs, a spacious 3BR 2BA home upstairs, and a "honeymoon cottage" out past the pool (quite private). The two of us stayed at the downstairs unit. It was nicely decorated and roomy for the two of us. Only the bedroom had A/C, but we did not feel the need for it in the living room and kitchen because there was often a nice ocean breeze that flows nicely through if you leave the window shutters open. The pass-through bathroom was a little awkward. I would not advise this lower unit for more than two people unless they are a "close" family or very chummy friends. But the upstairs unit looked fantastic for three couples or a large family. We did not see the cottage except from the outside. The lower unit has a nice private patio underneath the upper floor's veranda. It is a great place for a meal at the four-seat patio table. However there is just enough high vegetation on the other side of the perimeter wall, so you can't see much of the bay from the patio table. But step off the patio to the wall and you can see most of the bay very well. Upstairs the view is unobstructed and encompasses the entire bay; truely spectacular! There aren't more than a handful of views like this on Marigot Bay even though there are plenty of rooms and rentals available. The pool and deck shared between the two is easily large enough for 8-12 people, depending the level of activity. The view of the whole bay (between the trees) is fantastic. Finally, the property management company, Oasis Marigot Hotel & Villas Rentals, was very good. Their office was right across the bay, housekeeping was at our rental every day but one.

Dream Wedding Family Wedding Vacation!

5 of 5
No words can describe the unique magnificence that IS this place to stay in St. Lucia...my family arrived with jaws dropped as they walked up the pristine steps into our sanctuary for my wedding week with only the view of the Piton Mountains slightly taking away their attention from the gorgeous sparkling tiled pool in the foreground. The detail and design of this place can not be fully expressed in pictures, although our pictures were praised by many back home! The rooms are out of this world comfortable and extravagant at the same time. We felt like we were living as royalty for a few days, with the awesome staff (including three chefs!) helping with anything and everything. My family happens to be vegan, and they had NO problem creating the BEST meals, all made with fresh fruits and vegetables native to St. Lucia yet not neglecting the protein to give us strength for the hiking, beach visits, snorkeling, diving, and mud bath excursions that were within minutes from our awesome residence for the week. There are not enough wonderful things to say about our security guard Albert, our driver James, and our head Chef Marilyn, all who felt like part of our family by the time our stay was over. Even the owner of the house checked in with us and helped set up our sailing trip, gave us tips, told us the best places to sightsee and restaurants to try...from the first conversation with him I knew we were in good hands. This place was better than we could have imagined, even on the last day we were soaking in the beauty and taking our 5000th picture to try and capture enough to take back home and remember "this best trip of our lives"! I HIGHLY recommend staying at Caille Blanc if you want a smooth, safe, unforgettable, and absolutely stunning experience in St. Lucia!

Amazing Place to Stay if you want to relax - Beautiful Views!!

5 of 5
A quiet and relaxing location was a must have for this vacation and the Treehouse II did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived we felt comfortable and relaxed, and the stress of many hectic months simply melted away. This cottage is wonderfully maintained, organized well and the grounds simply amazing. On top of that you have the most beautiful views from the deck of the Pitons and Caribbean. Charmaine, the house manager, greeted us upon arrival and is very professional, friendly, helpful and a wonderful cook. Alvin takes care of the grounds and does an amazing job. He too was very friendly and professional. The plunge pool is a huge plus and we used it multiple times a day.The birds were bountiful, especially if you put out bananas and bread, and the other small creatures entertaining. We chose not to include many traditional activities on this trip, simply wanting to relax. But, many activities are available in Soufriere or through Anse Chastinet. One of the best coral reefs around is within walking distance from the Treehouse cottages at Anse Chastinet. Just keep in mind that St Lucia is hilly, and not gently sloping grades, hills. It is about a 15 minute walk downhill to Anse Chastinet .The walk back will take you longer and is a good hike uphill but overall it isn't bad. Once you get back to the Treehouse you can cool off in the pool with a view of the Pitons. We snorkeled at Anse Chastinet and Anse Mamin just about every day. They have a professional dive center for both snorkeling and dive adventures if you chose to go that route. Soufriere is probably a better cab ride away than a walk. Downhill plan for at least 20 minutes and the uphill walk back, longer and very steep. We had Benton's Taxi service take us into town for groceries and the whale watch and it was worth a $20 roundtrip plus tip. The town is lovely and the people very friendly and helpful. We did do a whale/dolphin cruise with Mystic Man Tours and were very pleased. Be sure to take the hike up the road in front of the Treehouse...the view at the top is amazing! There is a road that runs below the house and there can be some traffic noise during work hours. There was also construction across the street but honestly, they were not that noisy, and much less so than the people staying in a house down the hill. This did not impact our wonderful trip at all. I would definitely recommend Treehouse II and hope to return one day soon.
