Stunning views, stunning location

5 of 5
First of all, the bad point - The photographs on the website simply don't do justice to the views you will experience, it would be impossible to capture such a beautiful view using a camera! As soon as we arrived at Caribbean Blue suite we were instantly drawn to the gorgeous views out to sea and beautiful sunsets. The living accommodation has wooden Z-Fold doors on two sides which can be opened up to fully expose the views and allow the sea breeze to blow in. It has a relatively small kitchen area, although it is fitted out with everything you will need including a full-size oven, microwave, coffee maker, blender (that crushes ice). I think the management must read these reports because I noticed that an earlier review mentioned there was no pizza tray, but one is supplied now, which was useful ;-) The suite has a large air conditioned bedroom with large shower room, both of which are very beautiful. Caribbean Blue Suite is located next to (but not immediately joined to) Emerald Hill Villa and this villa was not occupied during our stay so Uriel the manager allowed us to use this Villa too, which gave us almost 360 degrees of views around the full headland and TWO pools!!!! Christine the cleaner/maid visits daily to clean, tidy and wash pots, which made us feel very spoilt. You are given a mobile phone pre-loaded with money and all useful contacts including Oasis Marigot Reception (which is across the bay and accessed via a convenient water-taxi), Albert the taxi driver, Uriel's number, etc. which we found very useful. The Suite is about a 15 minute walk down a steep hill to the village where all the restaurants are located including a small supermarket. We did this walk many times during our stay and although very hot, it wasn't too bad. The villa is about 80m (240ft) above sea level, so that gives you some idea of the height gain. If you are looking for a quiet, romantic get-away-from-it-all holiday, I can't recommend the Caribbean Blue Suite highly enough.

Excellent family holiday at the Great House!

5 of 5
Staying at the Great House enhanced our stay in St Lucia. The views within and around the house were beautiful, the house did not disappoint; the photos on the website were accurate. My family and I; all 9 of us, spanning three generations, enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again when we return to St Lucia. There were a few days when it rained for most of the day but we didn't mind staying in and enjoying the beautiful views from the verandas. The house was clean and well maintained. Christine, the housekeeper was always on hand, keeping the place spotless, and did this without interruption to our holiday. Many thanks Christine! All the staff provided great customer service. The household amenities were excellent and agreeable to our needs and there was everything we needed in the kitchen for a real home from home experience. My advice would be to make sure to contact the customer service team to arrange excursions and travel around the island as direct contact with taxi companies will result in excessive fees. St Lucia is a place of beauty with so many interesting places to go. Particularly the Diamond Waterfalls in the Diamond Botanical Gardens and the Sulphur Springs. There is an abundance of beautiful forests, towering peaks and picturesque beaches. It was a joy just spending the day watching the wildlife and the friendliest birds. We all agree that we will happily recommend the Great House to our friends and other relatives. Thank-you Oasis Marigot for making our stay in St Lucia a lovely memorable holiday experience.
