Two weeks In Paradise!

5 of 5
From our arrival at the airport, where our host was waiting for us, to our departure two weeks later, my husband and I relaxed in the caring hands of Josee and Pierre, our host and hostess for the duration of our get away at Pomme D’Amour. Driving from the airport, Pierre gave us a tour guide’s view of the island. He provided a running commentary on the history, customs, and terrain of the island as he negotiated the winding roads. The villa is tucked away on a verdant hillside, nestled in the most lush tropical foliage, sprinkled with colorful, vibrant blossoms. Beyond, is a view of the sparkling, azure-blue water of the Caribbean, where in the evening, we watched the spectacular sun sets. Our spacious and private veranda was our viewing stand. It was our magical tree house of sorts! Many different reviewers have said it all… the apartment is just as it has been represented on the web site…very clean, comfortable beds, maid service, a generous stack of quality bath towels (even when we said it was not necessary, the beach towels were replaced), and a quiet pool area to enjoy at the end of the day where you could relax with your favorite book and beverage. Josee and Pierre become your private concierge service, with such a sincere effort to make your stay memorable. Having arrived later in the day it was great to have our refrigerator already provisioned with essentials to hold us over until we could get to the store. Josee had arranged for our car rental and delivery prior to arriving, and facilitated all the paper work involved to acquire a permit to drive on the island. It was such a convenience to not waste precious time in a car rental office. On our first evening Pierre offered to drive us to a wonderful local restaurant and picked us up, at our convenience. As a travel guide Josee was tops! Her suggestions took away the guess work and her recommendations were excellent. We followed her advice regarding restaurants, beaches, and best snorkeling, as well as many other activities and events. A day of cruising the coast and The Tree Top zip line were two of our favorites! A couple of considerations regarding the Villa are: the need for a car, the many stairs to climb, and the walk to the closest beach in Marigot Bay is down ( and back up) a winding hillside. . Oh, and I almost forgot the rum punch and island bruschetta we were greeted with when we arrived. Now that says it all!

Beautiful tropical paradise

5 of 5
We just returned from a 10 day paradise vacation. Pelican House is the perfect tropical place to stay. The setting is one of the most beautiful places we have ever been. The people are friendly, food is great but the best is the location of Pelican House. It sits on the side of a hill overlooking the gorgeous Marigot Bay with a small beautiful beach. Pelican House is perfect as the outdoor living space allows a spectacular view of the area and the sun rises are absolutely wonderful on the deck with a glass of wine. You can just relax or experience the island your choice. Always something to do if you want. Would definitely return, we have been visiting Pelican House for over 10 years now.

Beautiful Property

5 of 5
Our family of six had a fun filled vacation at Villa Makambu! The property was beautiful and private but also close to nice restaurants and the beach. The owners, Pascale and Franz were great hosts, giving us tons of information as newcomers to the Island. Also big thank you to Carlos for the yummy fish cakes and taking us to the awesome snorkeling spots!
