Home away from home with the perfect view.

5 of 5
This was my first time renting a house so I was a bit nervous prior to arriving. I was put at ease with the communications I had with the owner of the property via email who answered any questions I had fairly promptly. My family and I were visiting St. Lucia due to a funeral and Ginny, the owner was very understanding and accommodating to our situation. I am truly grateful for that. Getting to the property was a bit tricky arriving at night because its in a secluded area with many winding roads. Luckily Cornelius, one of the property managers, for the house was waiting for us with the key and was able to provide more detailed directions to our taxi driver. Upon arriving late after a delayed flight we were eager to see the property and I must say the property looked exactly like in the pictures. Cornelius gave us the tour of the house and answered any questions we had. We also had contact numbers for him and his wife Pauline should we have any issues which was but was hardly needed. Waking up the following day and seeing the property in all its splendor as well as the magnificent views really made me happy I chose this house. The kitchen was well stocked and the general cleanliness and maintenance of the entire property was well done. It was spacious and well ventilated and the cool breeze was fantastic. Even more surprising was that we had no trouble with mosquitoes and the beds were fantastic. If I had to nitpick something negative about the house it would be that the pool was not heated. I took a dip once and it was freezing despite enjoying the warm Caribbean weather. Also, its an older house so some the fixtures might need updating but despite these minor things I would gladly return to this hidden gem of a property. I encourage anyone to choose this hidden piece of heaven. Thank you Ginny, Cornelius and Pauline. Hopefully my family and I can return under better circumstances. Warm Regards, Javis (from St. Maarten)

Book this location NOW!!

After three days over New Years up at Rodney Bay, my young adult daughter and I spent 8 days at Villa Pomme D'Amour with Josee and Pierre and could not have been happier. It was her first time in the Carribbean, and I can assure you, at her next opportunity she will bypass Rodney Bay and go directly back to the arms of Josee and Pierre, who are wonderful, supportive hosts. (A PITCHER of rum punch on arrival, YAY!!!) Descriptions of the property's fabulous setting/views from other guests are very accurate. Although I would agree that driving can be a bit "hairy" this is a great location to venture out from -- we were very glad to be able to travel to all the sites toward the south without having to drive through the busiest areas on the island. Josee arranged our hire car and it was delivered to us the first morning. What SERVICE! Pillows and linens are very high grade, there are plenty of bath towels, and each time we brought in a soaked beach towel it was magically replaced with another! Whenever we wondered whether to pursue "Plan A or Plan B?" we could just call out to Josee and obtain an answer! I also loved the nightsounds of the tree frogs and insects, and did not mind being wakened by night rainfall -- it really DOES feel like you are in a tree house. I will say this -- there are many steps to/from the accomodations & driveway -- this IS a cliffside property -- so the aged or gimpy may want to pack extra Aleve! You also might wonder whether if privacy is adequate, considering the fact that there are three apartments here -- but the landscaping and building design are such that you can literally go days without seeing anyone else, and only hearing them splash in the pool below. We enjoyed the other guests very much - it was fun to wrap up the day at the pool over drinks, exchanging stories from the day! I am very grateful to have found Villa Pomme D'Amour, and have met Josee and Pierre. Go ahead and book it, you will love them, and this place, too.

Surrounding by rainforest and the sea

5 of 5
Ironically, the very first accommodation that popped up on this site that matched our needs was the perfect choice... we didn't need to search further. Although our airport taxi driver was somewhat confused finding our final destination, Sarah was there on cell and on foot walking to meet us on their winding road. Her beaming smile and gentle soul confirmed that we were in for a grand week of new experiences. The apartment was just as described with everything you would need to cook your meals while overlooking the Caribbean Sea as the boats (yachts actually) sailing slowly into Marigot Bay for their supplies. Sarah and Pablo, with their 3 Black Labs, are superb hosts that were available when needed yet discrete to allow us privacy to soak up the environment that was lush with the sounds of tropical birds, tree frogs, and the unique sounds of the rainforest. I could go on and on.. as am now back to Southern Quebec where we woke to -25 degrees (F)... but wish you assure readers that this is a wonderful location to be if you want to enjoy a slower pace, take walks to the nearby beach for snorkeling and collecting pieces of coral washed ashore, elect day trips to other parts of the island, or just be content with the moment. We didn't rent a car and found that our feet got us where we wanted to go with the occasional day tour that could pick us up at the Bay or doorstep. Our memories are now being shared with our friends back home but extend our sincere thanks to both Sarah and Pablo - they are unique people who are very much in love with one another as they are to their unique home in Marigot Bay. Make sure you see the Pitons and Soufriere regions. We elected to bike (fat tire) with Jungle Biking for a day that also included water taxi, lunch, more snorkeling, and short hikes for some of the best views on the island. Cappela Hotel is at the Bay and offers a nice lunch overlooking the mega boats moored, good food selection at the local grocery store, town bank requires picture ID to exchange money but ATM is open daily. Taxi stands are also at the bay to take you were you want to go. Castries is only important is you want to shop the marketplace - otherwise, head to Rodney Bay for restaurants and day of shopping (if you prefer). Ok.. that's it in a nutshell...make your plans, now!
