Lovely!!

5 of 5
The reality of our visit to Nevis and our stay at Moonbeam far surpassed any expectations we had prior to arrival. It truly was the vacation of a lifetime. We were traveling with our two teenage children and everyone had a fantastic time. The photos from our vacation can't touch the beauty of the island or Moonbeam. To sit on our deck with a rum punch after a dip in the pool before taking a shower al fresco was just perfect. The house is comfortable, it has a perfectly stocked kitchen, lovely areas for entertaining or playing games and the sunset views were spectacular. Duncan and Gigi provided us with all the information and services we would need. They set up our water taxi, rental car, suggested beaches, restaurants, activities and much much more. The locals were welcoming and courteous and navigating the island was much easier than we anticipated. I really cannot express enough what a fabulous time we all had. We would definitely do this again!

Heaven Sent

5 of 5
This home is truly my home away from home. I was blow away with the complete structure of the house. The description of Hummingbird as presented is accurate and then some. Each room gave off a feeling of love and tranquility. My favorite place of the house was the verandah. Each morning my family and myself would have breakfast together over looking the magnificent scenery. The garden is breath taking, well kept, colorful and vibrant. The house was airy and cool at night (no need for the air conditioner) Richard I salute your team of workers. Renesha (house manager) omg was wonderful, any questions, concerns or problems without hesitation she took care of them right away. The housekeeper, what a gem. The pool was maintained beautifully. This home is secure and safe so no need to worry. Once you arrive at Hummingbird you will feel as though you are on your own private island, I kid you not. Richard once again thank you for the hospitality that you gave my family and myself, I consider you a friend. To all that want a home away from home Hummingbird villa is the way to go. This visit to Nevis and my wonderful experience at Hummingbird will be a memory embedded in my heart forever. Bye bye for now Hummingbird see you next year.

There is something magical about Butler's that I can't put into words, you just have to experience

5 of 5
My husband and I stayed in Butler's House for over a week. We can not say enough wonderful things about this sanctuary where we could watch the monkeys play every evening by the pool, take walks to nearby hiking trails, and enjoying meals on the veranda overlooking the ocean. There is no air-conditioning, which was an early concern for me before we booked--as it turned out there was no concern for the lack of A/C. The elevation at Butlers allows for the beautiful ocean breezes to enter the home and it stays cool, even on hot days (I think A/C might even spoil the experience as renters may want to turn it on vs. enjoy the cool breezes). If you stay, ask Bernice to cook you some authentic West Indian meals, she's a wonderful cook. We spent countless hours in the pool--nets were provided to help keep the pool clean on the days it wasn't cleaned by someone. You can pick fresh fruit from the garden, including mangos and limes. Monkeys will play on the roof some mornings and are around the property--they provide ample entertainment and they are not intrusive in the least. Although the property is not located on a beach or next to resorts, everything is within a short driving distance (keep in mind that the most time any drive will take is about 20 - 25 minutes to the opposite end of the island) so most beaches and restaurants are within a 10 minute drive, so you will need a car. Butler's Village is great, Jimmy Buffet's famed Domino College is a short walk away. People wave to you everywhere you go, and Butler's Village I found particularly welcoming. It is not developed in any way, it is truly a quain caribbean village, which was perfect for us. If you're looking for a posh, slick type of atmosphere, this probably isn't the place for you. But if you prefer a true caribbean experience and want to completely unwind and relax, Butler's is for you. It is a comfortable home where you feel like you can curl up on the couch and lose yourself in a book, cook a gorgeous meal in the kitchen, or take a shower in the bathroom with the windows wide open, overlooking the garden and flowers and wildlife, the property is incredibly inviting, calming and private. You feel completely safe staying at Butlers as well as on the island of Nevis. There is something magical about this place that I can't put into words, you just have to experience it for yourself.
