Wonderful Condo

5 of 5
We stayed a week at this location in Aug 2014, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The condo is small, but very well appointed and cozy. The complex has a nice pool and it is located in a great location. You can walk 5 minutes to the coffee shop, several restaurants, or a small market with everything you could need. You are also located near both the Atlantic and Caribbean sides and can walk either direction. The condo is walking distance to the Marriott resort, which has nice restaurants, golf, casino, spa and a great pool and beach area. By far the best part of this rental is the porch. Sitting there with a drink and the breeze listening to the waves was by far the highlight of the trip. Highly recommended.

Relaxing place, awesome view, good location

5 of 5
2 weeks in St. Kitts of total relaxation and an awesome time. The suite (there are 2, hint: take Buena Vista), offers an awesome view of Frigate Bay and Nevis Peak. You can hear the splash of waves from the shore below, which makes it very relaxing. The suite is a fairly large studio, akin to a motel kitchenette suite. It more than suited our needs for the duration of our stay. What we truly loved from this studio was, that it was breezy, just open the patio door, a side window, the access door and it stayed cool (even in 30 degree weather). We even tried to sleep without the AC, but had to give up because of wild roosters in the nearby hills, they start singing at around 3:30AM and do not stop. Despite these roosters, the neighbourhood is quiet. We did not get to meet the owner in person, but he is genuinely interested in ensuring that your stay is an enjoyable one. He can easily be reached (maybe even too easy that the manager often got overlooked) and will provide complete information whenever requested. Also thanks to the manager and Rudy the handyman, they helped making our stay enjoyable. PROS: Roomy, breezy, quiet. Suite is reasonably well furnished. Big (new) fridge with a few goodies upon arrival. Washer and dryer proved useful (are reasonably new too) Reasonably close (on foot) to the South Frigate Bay watering holes CONS: Kitchen tools and utensils could use revamping and are limited. Recommendations for the upcoming traveller: Car is definitely needed (driving on the left of the road is fun!!!) Bring along some resealable plastic bags (ziploc type) of various sizes, well worth it. This suite is good for couples of all ages.

Caribbean Retreat

4 of 5
We found paradise! The very large deck over looks the crystal clear blue waters of the Caribbean with distant views of Nevis - spectacular. The main living area opens right onto the deck through beautiful large sliding glass doors. It would be great if there was a screen for the evenings to keep the bugs outside, so we had to keep them closed, but as they work so well, opening & shutting them to go in &out wasn't a problem. Inside the home is bright and spacious. The kitchen is fully applianced & out-fitted with all the essentials. Upstairs are 2 excellent-sized bedrooms with huge closets and a full bath with an odd layout that offers 2 showers (one with a tub) and two wash basins and one john set up in two areas - but it works! With the home's location at the top of Fort Tyson Rise, a car is an absolute necessity. With car rentals easy to come by (both nationally known companies and great local ones) there is no problem. While the home had some age and we did have a couple of maintenance issues (a foot through the deck and a running toilet) the company that handles this had workman there when we needed them and they were quick & efficient and did a great job. We ourselves took care of a few things that needed some attention; fixing the dining room chairs and removing and replacing some broken light bulbs, overall the home is in very good shape and the neighborhood is charming! For restaurants, there are so many fabulous ones, it's hard to name them all! Of our favorites, Marshall's (right next door) is at the top of the list and no car necessary. Others we loved are Rock Lobster, Carombola, Royal Grille and Blu (the last two at the Marriott). For breakfast, you can't beat Ritual's! Beaches is what St Kitts is all about! Timothy Beach is just down the hill with lots of beach bars for food & beverage but our favorite is Cockershell, a 15-20 minute car ride over some rough roads, but worth all the potholes! Here Lion's Rock offers cold beverages and fabulous Caribbean food! Gotta have a burger & fries, slip next door to Spice Mill. Staff to do: ride the Sugar Train, do a snorkel trip with Leeward Adventures, go to the Caribelle Batik, try the zip-line, ride up to the top of Brimstone Hill but don't miss a pina colada at Ottley's Plantation!
