This was our 10th anniversary trip, and my husband and I wanted a relaxing, secluded, clean, fun vacation spot. We were leaving small children and busy jobs behind so it had to be worth it! IT WAS!
Hedda was very accessible before/during our stay. However, to be honest, we were a bit concerned with the loose plans upon arrival in St Kitts (ask for so-and-so), but even when we doubted our safety or the plan, everything was seamless (other than our non-arriving luggage, which Christian personally got for us the following evening). Trust the recommendations. We arrived in the evening to a villa filled with spa music, bottle of bubbly on the counter and a space that was as beautiful as the online pictures. (Pack snacks for a late arrival as food options may be limited.) We woke to sparkling water and gleaming sunshine upon raising the shades. Wasting no time in using the espresso machine and pool, we then braved the roads and headed to the store upon Rohenie and Raj's arrival and recommendations of where to go. We got some essentials for the nicely appointed kitchen but also dined out at some good places (Chrisi Beach Club for lunch 3 days (a great menu for fresh foods, burgers and cocktails), Indian Summer, Sunshine's, Bananas, etc.) Get a car so you can explore. We also filled one morning with a spectacular waterfall hike in the jungle. The beach sand is soft yet hot as a volcano during the day. Water is calm, clear and secluded. The ferry for cars to St Kitts is close by but you only see it when it leaves the dock. When sitting at the villa you can't see the dock due to the privacy walls and foilage. The road behind the villa doesn't disrupt your trip and offers great accessibility to this tiny island where bugs are limited, goats are a plenty, driving is on the opposite side of the road (for Americans) and you can pull off to any beach and jump out to see the beauty of Nevis. We even tried the mineral bath (which is nothing to look at but feels great if you can stand the heat) and a massage on the patio during the one and only rain shower. We stayed in the off-season, so the crowds were lighter than even normal (great chance to meet some of the island regulars), so we had to be a bit careful in selecting our nights at particular restaurants due to schedules. We were spoiled throughout the trip. The tranquility and beauty of this island and each of the people we met refreshed a part of our souls and marriage that can't be explained in a review!
