Best Apartment Ever - You Can't Top This

          5 of 5
My husband/I & friends spent a month in Barcelona at this absolutely perfect apartment. The pictures are accurate and it's actually more spacious than it looks. There are windows in every room (Dining, Living,Kitchen, 2 BR's) which makes it very bright no matter what time of day. Xavier, owner, made our stay a very enjoyable experience. He made the rental a very easy process and was there to meet us when we arrived. Xavier also gave us helpful information regarding the area and places to visit. The apartment was clean/modern, comfortable; kitchen had all equipment needed; lift in apartment was helpful as we are on the 4th floor; apartment was in a quiet area of town, building was quiet too. Bath & 1/2 was nice with guests; big shower, washing machine and balcony all a big BONUS. Big TV was great for watching World Cup. Plenty of clean towels, sheets and beds were very comfortable. We did need air-conditioning for several days and it worked perfectly. WiFi good, fast. There were 3 close Metro stops but we used the L-3 Fontana line most always -- it was about a 4 minute walk from apartment. We found a fabulous bakery for our bread & sweets; several grocery stores in the area; a nice grocery also just steps from the Fontana Metro stop was convenient when coming home in the evening. The Gracia neighborhood behind the Fontana Metro was our go-to place for dinner most nights. It was the best little neighborhood, complete with boutiques, bars and great, great restaurants. Also, this entire area is very safe too. It was very easy to reach the busy, tourist areas of town on the Metro. Beaches & waterfront areas in Barcelona were really nice as well - walking promenade, plenty of benches for people watching and restaurants. We explored all areas of Barcelona via Metro and took day-trips via bus/train to Montserrat, Vic, Tarragona, Girona, Sitges, Sant Pol de Mar, Tossa de Mar, Freixenet Winery (Cava is good!), Flamenco Dance at the theater. I would highly recommend the double-deck bus tours. It's a great way to see the entire city and hop on/hop off. We ordered perfect weather and that's what we got - sunny every day. Barcelona is a great, modern, safe city with friendly, helpful people. Metro & train are easy. Young people always offered a seat on the Metro if they saw you standing. Tourist Information in Catalunya stop was convenient & helpful. I would return to Barcelona and would DEFINITELY return to this apartment.
