Straight away let me say how very much we enjoyed our stay at this house. If only we could have bottled the feeling we had when we first arrived, after a typically trying journey, and saw not only that the house appeared even better than we hoped, but was immaculately presented. The welcoming bottle of wine etc was much appreciated, and fresh cut flowers was a lovely touch. As we settled in, effortlessly, it became more obvious just how much care and attention you must have put into the renovation. It seemed clear that the consequence of every decision was considered carefully. The selection and nature of the fittings and decorations creates a sympathetic and welcoming environment, and I guess you must have enjoyed the services of a very good and conscientious builder, but other maybe less obvious details, some large and some small, were also appreciated: the use of glass for the terrace balcony for instance; the lighting design and switching; even the termination of the curtain poles! Very rare is it that I don't find myself thinking "why on earth didn't they..." when staying away from home, and this was one such rare occasion when my inner anorak remained silent.......Returning to a place once visited is something we would generally avoid, but this year's experience may sorely test that principle.
