My husband and I made a last minute decision to visit Barcelona. With only a week to plan I was concerned about finding a suitable place to stay but luckily this apartment in the Eixample district was available. We could not have been more pleased with the unit and with the customer service provided by Angel. We called to say we were on our way from the airport and Angel's colleague Noria met us in front of the unit. Payment was made on the spot with a credit card. Both Angel and Noria speak excellent English, a big plus for us since our Spanish is rudimentary. Angel was very professional. When we discovered that the wireless internet was not working, he was there within the hour to call the company and get service restored. He answered his phone immediately when we had a few other minor issues and even arranged a cab for our (very) early morning departure. I had been a bit concerned about not having the services of a hotel concierge or front desk at my disposal, given that we were first time visitors to Spain with only high school Spanish, so Angel's accessibility by phone and prompt response to our requests made me feel that I had a resource in the city if I needed one in an emergency or for something else that I could not figure out with the help of my guidebooks and the internet.
The unit itself was VERY CLEAN, fully equipped with kitchen appliances and clothes washer and dryer, and very spacious for a couple. There are separate air conditioning units for the main bedroom and the living area, a big plus for my husband who requires a cold environment in order to sleep. The apartment is in an older building with about 7 other units; it is very quiet. We never saw any of the other tenants, and barely heard them. The apartment building has a keyed entry, as does the apartment itself, and there is an elevator. The neighborhood seemed very safe, even late at night. Although we could have taken the excellent Metro system we opted to walk everywhere. This apartment is very well located. We could walk to everything--Sagrada Familia, Barrie Gotic, the waterfront, in less than 30 minutes. Placa d'Catalunya is a 10 minute walk, as is La Rambla and Passeig d Gracia. We walked to Placa D'Espanya in about 25 minutes to catch a train for a day trip to Montserrat. The only time we used a cab was to travel to and from the airport. If you are looking for a safe, clean, well-located apartment in Barcelona, with a professional, accessible manager, we recommend this one!
